I don't think it's right to let your work 'rated' with simple numbers...I assure you that the results would be very unwanted. Perhaps you should ask for it to be 'critiqued' instead?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~That's right...I just dripped on your carpet~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Accepting harsh criticism is something that encourages you to grow and become a better writer. Yes, sometimes we don't want to admit that we are wrong, but it's all for the better to just let your rage go and take it. Everybody has an opinion and if it happens to be negative they have the right to share it with you if they please.
You 'Don't' always know yourself best...it's easier for others to pick up on your own flaws. Whether you deserved it or not is not something I can be a judge of, so I hope you take this message into consideration.
Also, please try to use better grammar when making a point in the writer's forum. People tend to take you more seriously that way. :0

I'm pretty sure that if I ever met Stephanie Meyers in person she would probably end up being an okay person...so instead I'll direct my comments towards her writing style. I've never read The Host so this is all based on 'the Twilight saga.'
My comments:
* Back in Junior High I'll admit to being partial to it...but that was five years ago and my tastes have definitely changed and/or matured.
*Her crazy fans are a turn off...that's not her fault though...so I won't blame it on her.
*People forget that Twilight is a 'ROMANCE' book that appeals to Tweenage girls (and others I'm sure) ...not a HORROR story...therefore it would be an inadequate to compare it to Stephen King's work....I doubt he wishes to appeal to the tweenage soul. Objective matters.
* Stephanie Meyers tends to rely upon thesaurus rapage... which on the bright side could increase your vocabulary...but overall her choice of words seemed awkward and often disrupted flow.
Conclusion: It's definitely not the best book in the world, but she's definately making some big bucks off of it. I feel that some people glorify her writing to an annoying and unnecessary point. I also realize that people 'unglorify' her writing to an annoying and unnecessary point.
I've read better....I've read worse.
I wouldn't pick up a copy and re-read it though.
Will this topic ever die?

Regarding titles, whether I create them before, during, or after the actual story changes. Sometimes a good title just pops into my head without much thought...and other times I end up waiting until the very end. *shrugity shrug shrug* I guess I just don't follow much a of pattern.
No way! This is really your first thread...honestly I'm flabbergasted. =0

Please proofread. There are many grammar/spelling errors. <---Having those sort of errors has a negative effect on the 'final presentation' of this excerpt. It also allows the reader to misunderstand certain aspects of what is happening.
From such a small excerpt I'm unable to comprehend any sort of exposition leading to a main idea. So I am unable to give a proper critique regarding the course of actions taking place within the story.

Yes...when that happens it annoys the crap out of me.
I like to keep my literature and Anime/Manga obsessions separated from each other.
Edit: So yes...I suppose I WAS referring to Japanophiles who write there story as if it was an anime...with face faulting and bursting veins...I find it distasteful. =0

The Draken Jaiden` No, I think I'm in Gen Y. {I'm almost 10 years older than you guys.] Unless that stands for Generation Youtube. I never could get that straight: who's a baby boomer, who's a Gen Y'er, who's a Gen X'er.....
That makes me generation Y....(born in '93)
Now I truly know my place in this world.

The WF is currently being invaded by N00bz and trolls of all sorts. It's up to us regulars to defend our countryForum!
There are still decent writers here...they are scarce in numbers but, yes they exist.
--> I know this is considered wrong...but nowadays I seem to be judging people by their usernames. If I see a 'lol doez u lyke mah story' posted and the OP'z name is 'HotXEMOXBunnyXGurl' I probably won't even bother...unless I have some sort of witty remark up my sleeve of course. <---Does anyone else hold such prejudices? =0
