Ramiele: That's amazing! What an inspirational story (or, rather, stories). I'm glad you're still alive (minor detail) and that you're perfectly fine; what a wonderful get-well present! You have wonderful friends!

my_eyes_bleed: That's so sweet! You and your friend have excellent taste; those items are so gorgeous!

Well, I'm off to go study for my last final exam of the semester! Woo! I'll be back on tomorrow after taking my exam and doing some Christmas shopping for my family and friends. ^__^ You're all wonderful! Thank you for your beautiful and inspirational responses; I hope to talk more with you all tomorrow. Take care!

Omikuji: That's such a sweet story! I love random acts of kindness like that from strangers; it's so generous. I love all of the Angelic Items, and the bracelets are incredible! I'm so happy you got them. ^__^

Lyndixie the Squirrel: Haha, indeed! It's nice when the person gifting looks on your wishlist and looks for something you'd want; it just shows that they really care, y'know? The Ruby Doll is precious!

Habariel: That is truly something to treasure - something very rare and beautiful! That's so sweet; I'm literally going "Aww!" out loud as I read what you're writing. xD It's so sweet. I mean, words cannot describe how beautiful that friendship of yours is. I'm so happy for you.

Star of the South: Wow! The Noel's Gift is beautiful; congratulations on getting it! And I'm glad that she made your day better. *hugs* I only wish these wonderful people could really know how much it means to the people they're giving to; it definitely means a lot more than gold.

Skyara Snow: That's so cool! I'm glad you've got it; Ginoverseer rocks!

Whoa, you guys are fast! I run off to go get some icecream, come back, and a bunch of you have responded! Y'all are the best. <3 Let's hope this is everyone:

A Redhead Angel: Hahaha, omg. At least justice was served and she was able to keep her items, which is great.

RainbowGoose: Absolutely! These sorts of things probably happen more often near the holidays.

- R.C. -: That's so sweet! That's really similar to my experience ... wow. We're both pretty lucky!

charlieslaysvampires: Anonymous benefactors are always wonderful; the speculation is half the fun, even if the item isn't that expensive or gaudy. And that's really sweet of you to do; keep being that way because there are too many newbies leaving because people aren't nice to them. Thanks for being a good friend to your new friend! <3

- ROKKeNROU -: I've never been lent items nor have I ever lent items, but I'm guessing that it feels really good to know that the person trusts you enough with their item to let you play with it for a while. That's really sweet. And of course, it has a ripple effect - like you said, you were inspired to stay and creative (beautiful) avatars, like the one you have now. c:

Niko_Aku: That's really cool! The beautiful thing about being donated to is that it makes you want to go out and do good, and since it's close to the holidays, there are tons of opportunities and places to do so. That's fantastic!

[Philosophy In A Teacup]: Aww! I love that! The glasses pose on the NSFW is beautiful, and it's awesome that someone just randomly gave it to you. It just goes to show you that, among all of the bickering and conflict that's so prevalent around Gaia, there are wonderful, generous, and loving people everywhere you look.

Turkey Wang: Wow, that's really cool! Congratulations; that's quite a lot of gold. Do you donate to friends? Strangers? Charities? All three? ^__^

Mezo Panda: Thank you for bringing up artwork! Artwork is quite a lovely gift, and I'm sure your friend appreciated the Katana. That sounds like a wonderful friendship you share with her. And indeed! The friendship of others inspires us to work for our own items; absolutely. I remember when a friend of mine donated my Emo Glasses to me when I was new, and it gave me the drive to work for more beautiful items.

Jezze-a-Belle: o.o Whoa! That's really intense; not gonna lie. What a fantastic friend you have there! I'm glad you were able to get your stuff back due to her kindness and selflessness.

Pornfield: That just goes to show you - the GCD are a special group of people, let me tell ya. <3 What a sweet person! I hope that an act of kindness is bestowed upon her as well; that's a really sweet thing to do for someone else.

tha emo kid: Haha, yeah; sometimes, we need our friends to pitch in when we're down. I hope it was enough to get you back on your feet!

Miz Lina: That's really weird; I hope she wasn't banned. o.o And I'm glad that you've tried to give back; that shows that the "mystery benefactor" chose the right person to send such a nice gift to. ^ ^

Habariel: ... You are so sweet! ;_; Your friends are lucky to have your friendship, I'm sure; I'm so glad that it's about more than just the items or the gold - it's the meaning behind them. Maybe those loving messages you sent your friends will be the most wonderful things they've received on Gaia. I know I've received quite a few from very dear friends that made me cry because of how beautiful they were. <3

jamilee-nicole: Wow, I never thought of that - a returned trading pass - as an act of kindness. I think you're so right! That's a really, really nice thing for a moderator to do; they may try to be humble and say it's just their duty, but the truth of the matter is, they're good, hardworking individuals who did their job right and gave you something back that many of us sometimes - myself included - take for granted. And that's so sweet of you! Donating is a great way to get into the Christmas season.

@ The Dark Illuminati: Haha, it's okay; I've got my handy-dandy Report this Post/PM buttons! xD

Maybe she changed her username, or her profile was set to private? (Elemental Wings are beautiful! That's really cool.)

@ Aliita: Aww, that's really sweet! Yeah, I agree; gifts when you're new to this place are really, really special. 3,000g is a really big deal when you're new and that 1,500g-item looks so far away.

@ Magus: That's really, really awesome. Not gonna lie. Your avatar is beautiful, by the way. Love how you've incorporated the two. I'm excited about the Laurels as well; I have a pair in my inventory waiting for the next toga party. xD

@ Luna_Riven: I remember that, too! Fairy Wings were the bomb diggity, and it still is a cute item, no joke.

@ Mochary: Thank you! And wow, that would be very traumatizing. It sucks that such a great act of kindness was actually one of fraud, but like you said, you were able to keep your items, which is always a good thing. ^ ^

So, GCD, I usually don't dress like this. It's very rare for me to be wearing several expensive items at once and to have a moderately-cluttered avatar.

This afternoon, a very, very good friend of mine sent me an unexpected message on Facebook. He offered to give me a few Gaian items of his since he's now on indefinite hiatus; I said that I would happily take them, and that I would give them back should he ever return to Gaia.

What I didn't know is that he was offering me over several million in items: Coco Kitty, Winged Anklets, Inari's Beads, Enchanted Book, Angelic Lace, a Hidden Ace, and a lot more. I swear I died, basically attacked him with thank-yous and virtual glompage, and had to put on my new items. I think they look quite lovely.

This has to be the greatest thing anyone on Gaia has ever done for me - truly, the greatest act of kindness that has ever been bestowed upon this little Peacian. I actually wanted to cry when I got the items; it was so unexpected and so kind of him to offer his beautiful items to me. I simply can't stop smiling; this has been such a wonderful day because of his incredible kindness.

So, what about you? What is the kindest thing someone on Gaia has done for you? Was it a sweet message? A beautiful piece of artwork? An amazing donation? Something else entirely?

As silly as this might sound, I kind of miss navigating through the different shops through the World Map. I don't know; it made it feel a lot more like an actual fantasy world than an online hangout. It felt more ... personal, I suppose. ^__^ I know that I can still do that if I really wanted to, but it's so darn inconvenient, haha. I just miss the vibe that came along with it, y'know?
