Any good Manga Series? Go to post 9 Manga Wed Nov 25, 2009 5:18 am
I love Lovely Complex. heart

I'm seconding the recommendation for Ouran Host Club. Absolute Boyfriend is another good series to try. I also liked the bit of Crimson Hero that I read, and have heard fairly good things about it since.
Is Tubsa Chronicles worth reading? Go to post 8 Manga Wed Nov 25, 2009 5:13 am
I'd give it a try. The progression of the anime, with its ~*~DRAMATIC PAUSES~*~ and ~*~STARING CONTESTS~*~, etc can be a turn off to most people, and the better flow of the manga makes all the difference in the world.

Though I've gotta agree with the posters above, the final third of the series gets very confusing (I won't say the last half, because there's twists, but you don't get lost for a while). I'd save that part for times when you can read a chunk at a time.
Webcomics vs. printed comics Go to post 15 Anime/Manga/Comics Wed Nov 25, 2009 5:08 am
In your case, I say print online. You can always get a following, and then publish chunks in novel format, like Megatokyo did. Unless you have a following, but I don't think I've heard of you? =P

Personally though, I love the smell of printed paper. But I won't buy unless it's something I'm pretty sure I'll like, again with the building of a following. Yeah.

Poverty in Anime, Manga, Video Games, and J-Drama Go to post 5 Anime Series & Movies Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:31 am
I don't know how relevant this is to your project idea, but it seems to be a fairly common premise in some Japanese anime to have a poor wo/man indebted to someone wealthy. The first and most popular display of this that comes to mind is Ouran High School Host Club, where the main is indebted to a rich boy's club. The series makes references to her buying discount food, and living in a shabby house fairly often, and it's a joke early on that the rich boys have highly exaggerated views of the extent of her family's poverty.
An American Death Note movie!?! Go to post 30 Anime/Manga/Comics Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:26 am
The rumors are so old that if it wasn't false, the movie'd be out by now.
