Momocon was a lot more crowded this year, because a lot more people showed up. I'm not sure why this is, or why anime conventions get bigger exponentially every year - but they do. To say that the staff was ill-equipped to handle the volume of people this year is an understatement. Maybe they weren't expecting that many people, maybe they were and didn't know how to handle it regardless - who knows?

Despite the wait, I really think the staff did as good of a job as they could have. Their choices were really a) long registration line or b) no registration at all.

And if there was NO registration at all, even for a free convention, then how would they know exactly how many people attended the convention, so as to plan for the next year?

You guys have every right to complain, but I'm sure the staff tried their best. Maybe it's because I'm helping run another, smaller anime convention, but I really think that the staff deserve some praise along with all the flack they've been getting.

From what I heard that they where expecting about 7K people and when I talked to the registration guy they told me they printed out 7.5K in badges and where close to running out when I finally registered around 3 or 4pm on Saturday.

The first couple of years they didn't do registration but then they only had 500 - 700 people. Last year had worst weather with tornadoes and the costume contest started raining at the end. This year was just not enjoyable for me. I hope they find another venue because blocking people from going upstairs and having them crowd the stairways was just not safe at all.

Overall I didn't enjoy Momocon at all this year. The main things I like to do is go to the costume contest and look around the dealers room. Both of which I couldn't do because they kept blocking people.

We saw 3 normal non-staff people leave the cosplay contest but they kept saying it's full. Then when I mentioned how terrible this year was they said 'Well it's not like you paid anything for the con' ummm just because I didn't pay any admission didn't mean that there wasn't an investment in going to a con I have been going too since the damn thing started. I am sooo glad I didn't waste my time promoting Momocon on Gaia like years past.

Every year I always took photos of the costume contest but this year nothing.

Honestly if it wasn't for hanging out with friends after Momocon at Ru-Sans then the whole day would have sucked.

Now though that I live in Atlanta I still didn't want to go on Sunday. We sat at home and actually watched Anime which we didn't get to do at the actual con.

Overall I thought Momocon was better with Tornados like last year.

We might try a new Casual Clothes cosplay on Sunday but nothing special.

I probably should change the poll since that's left over from last year

I honestly thought 'Oh jealous friend who looked like crap who was upset because her friend upstaged her' but I looked at the photo and was like Whhaaaaattt? I don't know what to tell you. Maybe because you had your face covered and she didn't but I would have thought this would have been the other way around.

You live near idiots. Sorry that happened because yea I don't even get Panda from her outfit.

The person who writes these things keeps using the same photo and keeps talking about this Traci girl. The two times I went on that site it had the same main article photo. I never even heard of her before hand. Although the writer seemed to get upset when I wondered if it was illegal because what she does isn't cosplay but gets paid to play a character that the company doesn't own rights too.
