AnimeJet Actual HACKING into the system, like gaining access to Gaia's system as far as i know has NEVER been done. If this really happened, they could have ALL of our passwords. I'm hoping they would hash our passwords before storing them in the database (maybe with MD5). Ex. password would become 5f4dcc3b5aa765d61d8327deb882cf99 with MD5. Things like passwords are just too sensitive to stored as plain text. Otherwise, like you said, if someone were to get into the database, that person would have everyone's passwords. :/ |

Gaia actually hasn't done a whole lot to put me off (I'm kind of an easy going person). Other than the GC offers (I like the idea since it gives people who can't get GC for any reason a chance, but I was thinking we would have to complete anonymous surveys on sites like Surveymonkey for GC). neutral
