I know you're trying to support people but advertising on Gaia is probably not the best place to do it.

Just out of curiosity, why is that? Really, I am completely new to this site and was led here by some youth who are on it. So I figured it would be a good place to reach out.

especially since you're in california and most people on this site dont even live there.

in fact, I've run into more brits than anything else.

Huh. Well, we aren't outreaching to get youth to come to meetings in CA. We know youth are online more often now, so that is the kind of outreach we are doing. We want to make our staff available for youth to ask questions or find resources near them, if they haven't found them already.

Ah, I'm sorry. I definitely didn't mean to upset anyone. I'm still new on this site, so I'm not aware of specific rules. If you take a look at my profile you will see that Outlet is a legit organization set up to provide support for lgbtqq youth. We have youth who are part of Outlet who love this site and thought it would be a great way to outreach to other youth. That's why we set up a profile. I am in no way asking folks to just talk to some random person. Although, I find that comment ironic because that is what almost EVERYONE is doing on the forums. I am seeing some really scary, uninformed feedback given to lots of young people and it worries me.

Again, I'm sorry you got the wrong idea from my post.

When you say that penetration is uncomfortable, although not necessarily physically, are you saying it just makes you feel a little uncomfortable with what you're doing?

Also, for clitoral stimulation, what 'techniques' have you tried so far?

When I say that penetration isn't physically uncomfortable, I do mean psychologically. I happen to dislike my hands (they are rather short and stubby, after all; hardly feminine), and I have an "issue" with the idea that they could give me pleasure in any way, shape, or form. At most, penetration has felt...interesting (almost technical; feeling one's insides is, after all, an unusual experience), and perhaps a bit pleasurable (if only for the fantasies involved and the idea that, hey, this could be a p***s one day xD).

For clitoral stimulation, I've attempted pretty much everything I could think of. Grinding (very useful, but for only brief periods of time), rubbing (not very gratifying, as I have the "twitch" problem), and different, generic motions. Nothing really seems to work well enough for me to want to try it again. Generally, when I find myself horny nowadays (please excuse the blunt language), I entertain myself physically for perhaps five minutes, then stop before I become bored and discouraged and allow myself to drift into fantasies no longer accompanied by physical gestures.
Hm, well, I think for penetration, you just need to keep at it and hopefully, over time, your psychological issue with your hands will diminish or disappear.

as for clitoral stimulation, I think that 'twitch' problem might go away if you continue to experiment with rubbing, from my experience with women I've found very light circular motions with the tips of the fingers works well, and lastly, (don't worry about the language, I'm a complete pervert. xd ) I suggest that you go through physically 'enhancing' your fantasies at a sort of on-and-off pace, where you stop stimulating yourself for a little bit, only to continue later.

Either that or I can suck it up and go buy a d***o xD

I've tried the "light circular motions" before. Nada. Though I perhaps will try the fantasies again...if I get used to going back and forth between them and physical stimulation, and maybe even holding both at once, they may just work. I need to improve my imagination anyway -.-;

Oh no, don't suck it up and get a d***o. If you have already tried other things for penetration, I don't imagine a plain old d***o will do it either. Vibrators are much more fun. But can be too intense for some folks.

Also, have you tried using some kind of lube? (lubrication). I know many women who do get fairly wet themselves, but still need a bit more to really relax and have it just feel good. I would recommend using water-based lube. Some other things like massage oil can get really sticky and uncomfortable.

I don't know if I agree you should just stop and not try again. I think you shouldn't stress about it too much, but when you feel like playing a little bit, just relax and enjoy the general feeling.

I do agree with reading some erotica, especially while you are masturbating. That sometimes helps with arousal.

Everyone's body is a little different. You will find what feels best for you. Oh, and on the habit fear, don't worry too much about that either. I have gone through periods of my life where it felt like I was masturbating too much, then other periods where I wondered why I wasn't doing it at all! smile

Good luck!

I don't really think I need lube, but if I ever do suck it up and get a d***o (or vibrator), I may as well pick some of that up as well. Again, going out in public as a seventeen year old to purchase sexual items...not exactly my cup of tea xD

I'll try to work on not stressing (quite a feat, for me), and attempt finding erotica I enjoy once more, thanks 3nodding Trying again certainly can't hurt. Thank you very much for your input - I certainly appreciate it!

You're welcome. Also, just thinking of the awkwardness about buying sex positive things in general, I don't know how you feel about this, but many non-profits and health clinics give out condoms and sample lube for free. That might not be as awkward as going to a store to buy lube. I work for a non-profit and we have boxes of lube that we just give out to people who want it.

Hey,

I see a lot about lgb people on gaia, but I haven't run into many trans people. Are there any out there? For the youth, 13-24, Outlet is a great resource if you have any questions, or are just looking for someone to talk to. Check us out!!

Also, any youth having a hard time with their gender identity in general - feel like you are in the wrong body? I have heard many youth talk about that. It's important to Outlet staff that you don't feel alone, because you aren't alone! So please don't hesitate to ask for some support. We are online often!

Hey Darkangel (and everyone),

I'm so glad you started this thread. It's so important for lgbtqq people to have a safe place to talk and get support.

I work for the Outlet Program in Mountain View (www.projectoutlet.org) and we provide support and community for lgbtqq youth 13-24. I wanted to join in because I think it's really important to reach out!

On that note, I just started a new topic about a survey that we put out online for lgbtqq youth to fill out. We are hoping to make our services better for all queer youth. So I hope that you and others will fill it out. And check out our website for links to our forum and blog, and myspace and facebook! We answer questions anonymously and give trusted, reliable and honest feedback.

Here's the link to the survey if you can't find the other thread...http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wCqtYEYbf43rrxu5i8ieHA_3d_3d

Please join me as a friend too! I am still working on my profile!

Thanks again for starting this!!

lgbtqq youth support! Go to post 0 Lifestyle Discussion Wed Apr 02, 2008 7:07 pm
Hey Everyone! mrgreen

My name is Eileen and I work for the Outlet Program in Mountain View, CA. We provide support, community and info for youth 13-24 who are lgbtqq in the area. We are doing an online survey right now to find out how we can make our services better. The whole thing is confidential and only Outlet staff will see it. It would be great if you could take some time to fill it out. If you do it by Friday you can enter to win a gift card to Jamba Juice or Coldstone!! We have about 10 cards for $15 each that we want to give away.

So if you are between 13-24 and identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, queer, questioning, transgender, genderqueer, etc... please take a moment to do this survey. I think you'll enjoy it!

Here is the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=wCqtYEYbf43rrxu5i8ieHA_3d_3d

We really want to know what you think, and what kind of support you would like!

Pass this on to your friends too! The more youth we get to fill it out, the better results we’ll have. If you have any questions, just email me at eross@chacmv.org.

Thanks for your time! And check out our website if you want to... www.projectoutlet.org
