Thank you for looking at my art, [ UB3R N00B ], however I believe you're missing several points here.

I am not stealing. If you want to see the reference (Which I am TERRIBLY SORRY for not posting. It slipped my mind and I'm so sorry!), here it is. http://bloc.mundoejecutivo.com.mx/images/upload/leon-larregui.gif
And everyone uses reference photos when it comes to realism, or at least learning to do realism. Besides, the picture of Leon that I used, it's just a picture of him. I don't think it was intended to be used as "Art" in terms of photography. Just a picture of him.

I don't think if I draw a picture of my friend, using a photo of her, will be considered stealing.

Anyways. The picture is blurry because I used my phone camera. So I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression of it because of my quality of photo taking.

Thanks though for looking at it.

And yes, I agree with you with the nose. There IS something about it.... >_>

It's pretty great, I could call that finished indeed.

Eyes are a tad big, it's hard to make them not big really.

Thanks! Yeah I think it's either; shrink his eyes to make them proportionate, or enlarge the rest of his face to do the same.

But meh. Thanks! Visited your profile and it's nice! I like the leafy background! (couldn't comment because my internet is super slow)

I googled the name to check you portrait against the reference pic. I got thiss, which I assume is the ref pic. It is very good. Excellent shading. You are keen on details.

The only thing I would say is a bit different from the pic is the size of the nose (the actual pic's being a little larger), the shading on the bottom lip, and his left eye (on our right, visually) is a little large towards the inner corner.

Actually, now that I take a closer look, the placement of the eyes, on their plane, seems to be a little lopsided/slanted, but just slightly. The feeling from your drawing, based on eyes and facial expression, is slightly different than the one I get from the picture, not having to do with color or black/white. It seems to hold a slightly more blank expression than the actual pic, as his eyes(actual) seem almost a bit angrier/lazier/more serious. One of those or sumtin.

These are just things I noticed if that is indeed your reference picture. It is a very good piece. I really do like it a lot. I hope I was helpful.

Yeah I noticed his nose was different in mine. Like, I dunno. It's just different.

I also almost had to come up with his whole left (on picture) side, since the actual doesn't really have it.

I usually always miss the shape of the eye alot. sweatdrop It's what I've been trying to get better at. But I think it's because in my picture in real life, I drew really minute details, like eyelashes and the pupils, which you can't see in the reference picture.

It makes me so happy to know someone actually looked him up. Thanks for everything!

im amazed that you did that starting with the eye , most people start with the nose to measure everything else against which means your observation skills are wicked smile lovely portrait

Thank you! I start with the eye because I thought that's what most people measured by. Like, the face across is five eye widths. The nose is about two to three eye lengths from the eyes, and the eyes are one eye width apart, ect. That's what I use.

i was taught with the nose because its more in the middle haha , well different techniques work for different people eh ? whenever i start form the eye it gets like ..lopsided XDD lol ,anywya , LOVELY

I just checked your DA and forgot to say how awesome the gallery was! Well here it is ----- YOUR GALLERY IS KICK AWESOME!! heart
