Think about that Burger King commercial, I would find it disturbing if old ladies were into Twilight.

Edit: I mean if they were into it like THAT.

Or construction workers *shiver*

Faerie Wars and its sequel, The Purple Emperor by Herbie Brennan. I think there are more now, but those are the two I've read.

I haven't read it yet, but my mom said Fablehaven was pretty good.

Change of subject: I stole my sister's copy of Night World.

Needless to say, so far it sucks. Except for the fight and even that was under-dramatic.

This is a dead horse. It's been asked a million times before. You will have people on both sides of the fence no matter what. Personally, I don't think the two are comparable.

And did you really have to post in such an unearthly bright color?

((Thanks. My friend told me to name him that. He is actually quite cuddly for a snarling hellbeast.))

Alyss nodded, taking in Rita's news. A change in the plan, but she could adjust accordingly. Mr. Fluffles was certainly aware as well, though all he could do was grunt and drool. It made sense to both of them. If they attacked them one-on-one and failed to kill them the first time, the opportunity may never come again. She waved goodbye as Rita disappeared into the woods. She turned to Mr. Fluffles and cooed, "Go ahead and roam. No one will see you." He grunted once more and lumbered off into the city. He would be fine; only Hunters could see him. Possibly Guardians too. The Chosen and other humans wouldn't be able to unless he chose to reveal himself. She said farewell to the others and wandered back to the school. No news from her bird yet. Maybe she would run into another Chosen in class.

Alyss nodded and smiled at Magenta. "It is good to see you again as well, Magenta. And Spirit too," she giggled and reached down to stroke the feline's snowy coat. "Now that I think about it," she pondered aloud, "Mr. Fluffles hasn't been able to stretch his legs for a while. Perhaps I should let him." A black fog shifted on the ground behind her, seeping up from the cracks in the earth. The smoke formed a grotesque creature. Its feet were bond with broken chains. Purple acid dribbled from its cracked, black lips, burning a patch of grass to dust. It grunted and shook its head.

She sensed their energy. A few of her comrades had gathered in the woods. It worried her, but not enough to not drop in. Perhaps the pocket of auras would be diluted by distance to any Guardian in the area. She dropped into the woods, landing near the other Hunters.

"Hello," she greeted them all cheerily. "Vincent, Rita, Magenta. How is the hunting going?" Then she noticed they were in their true forms. "Oh, are we supposed to change?"

((If anyone's available to RP, just tell me. OK?))

Alyss stood on the school's rooftop. The entire campus was visible from her position. Students filed into the building in large groups. All potential victims. Just because she was assigned to one person didn't mean she couldn't play with the others later. But of course the mission came first. She had the steps planned out in her head:

1. Find Zackary Rhodes and his Guardian
2. Befriend him. Get them to trust her.
3. Kill the Guardian, then destroy Zack himself when they least expect it.
4. Claim the prize.

She giggled; the prey could be surprising though. She couldn't wait to see what tricks he and his Guardian might pull. That was for a later date though. With a whisk of her hand, one of the guardrails groaned to life, ripped from its bolts by some invisible force. The metal twisted and contorted in the air, folding itself like origami paper into the shape of a bird. A convincing bird from a distance.

"Fly, my pet," she spoke softly to it. "Find Zackary Rhodes and observe." The creature nodded and sprang from her arm. It dived down, weaving around objects and people until it landed on an SUV. It watched a boy with white hair and glasses as he conjured up a circle of wind.

In the meantime, Alyss returned to the main building to get associated with her fellow classmates.
