 It wasn't too long after Cari had finished singing her song, a method Eli guessed was to help calm both of them down, that they arrived at the meadow. More out of breath because of his aggravation, Eli coolly laid down at the edge of the meadow.    Luke laughing at him didn't exactly help his blushing, and he tried to not make his fake pouting face as much as possible. "Hang on, lean with the turns, get on on the left, got it," Zephyr said as he counted them off on his fingers, repeating the rules just as a tool to help himself remember them, and to let Luke know he'd been listening. Accepting the helmet, Zephyr examined it to see how it worked. He didn't like Luke not wearing a helmet, but he figured if anything happened - since he would have to hold Luke's waist - he could just jump off of the bike with Luke to safety. It be something he'd have to write off as 'I got thrown and you came with me,' but it was better than the alternative. Shrugging, Zephyr followed Luke over to his bike, glancing at the compartment before walking a bit closer. Examining his over stuffed messenger and the compartment, Zephyr frowned. One glance inside told him his bag wouldn't fit, but he could stuff a few of his things inside so as to make it possibly easier to make turns. Opening his bag, Zephyr pulled out the most troublesome notebooks and maneuvered them into the compartment. Now his bag was lighter, and it wouldn't be such a pain to wear while on the bike. "This might work better than trying to stuff my bag in there," Zephyr said and glanced down to the second level of the parking lot at his car. "You know what, I'll just do this," Zephyr said before taking his notebooks back out of the compartment and holding a finger up to Luke, a gesture asking him to wait. Jogging down to the second level, he put his keys he'd been holding into the door and twisted it. The locks unhitched and he opened the back door, tossing his things into the back and shedding his light jacket. Now he was just wearing his button-down white shirt and his art jeans - only called his art jeans 'cause they were stained from clay and paint. Jogging back up the hill after he'd shut the doors, locked them, and recovered his keys, Zephyr gave Luke a smile. "Ready," he said, putting the helmet on his head - only it was on backwards. Am I the only one who cracked up reading, "Wanna stick your bag in here?" |
