Gwen Stefani/No Doubt Go to post 40 Music Mon Sep 21, 2009 6:20 am

Oh, my GOD...Gwen's solo stuff makes me want to shoot her.
Luckily, No Doubt is one of my favorite bands, so I would never do so.
I own every single No Doubt CD, and I went to see them in concert in June, along with Paramore.
BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!!!!!!
And I've been to a lot of concerts.
(But was it better than The Recieving End Of Sirens?
Hell, yeah. XD)
Gwen and the band sound so good live! blaugh

The solo stuff wasn't really that bad. There were a few horrid points, namely Breakin' Up and Hollaback Girl (it was fun for a bit, but I always skip it now...still it helped her dominate 2005) but there are also gems like Wonderful Life and Danger Zone. At times I do wonder: Nobody even saw this coming after Rock Steady? I almost lol'ed when their catalog listed Tragic Kingdom as Pop and Rock Steady as Rock. (I'm not saying anything negative, just that it seems a little wrong based on the sound of the albums). For a few its: OMG she's without the band. She can't do it on her own. She shouldn't be doing fashion. She shouldn't have kids because it'll delay the album. < there are people like that.

Maybe a little overboard but I'm trying to get this over. Yes, it was a lot less personal and the lyrics were often iffy (not entirely her fault, seeing that Simple Kind of Life and Suspension Without Suspense were great on ROS) but it was fun. An experiment. Anybody with musical taste would say that ND>solo (I would too) but sometimes it just gets ridiculous. Don't take this personally, its just that I've seen the often biased comparisons way too many times in the past 4 years.

I'm sorry, I just find it funny that every person ever trying to defend them either have grammar that is so atrocious, that I want to gouge out my eyes after reading, or have no idea what a sentence is and how to punctuate their thoughts. Whats to be jealous about when all their fans are illiterate nobodies who just add to the bands failures. Either that, or their fans try to reason that no one else should listen to anything if they haven't heard of it. Songs made by Disney are not the only thing out there in your narrow minded bubble of worldwide perspective. Oh, and the abstinence nonsense? Yeah, because its so hard fighting the urge to chase the little boys (emphasis on the little boys) and girls that are their fans when the economy is in the shitter and everyone is looking for a reason to sue someone out of their fortune. What they call music, is an atrocity on the ears, and a crime against humanity. They should be locked up with all the other Disney sponsored bans for polluting the airwaves and brainwashing the youth. While locked up, they would be strapped down to a table for everyone and anyone to come in and beat the living crap out of them.

Jonas fans need to grow up and listen to real music, not mas produced garbage.

The Jonas Brothers aren't "little boys".
Do you even know what a little boy is?
Maybe a 6 year old would be considered a little boy, but not a 20 year old.

What Did I Do To Your Heart - Jonas Brothers

That's seriously all you can come up with. I'd say he/she was a bit extreme, but damn it, you prove what they just said. It's pretty clear that getting a message across is like hitting a brick wall, so I'll just watch the overreaction.

Well, I wouldn't exactly say it really fits with what you want, but try No Doubt's Don't Speak (overplayed in the 90's blah blah blah). The original version was supposed to be a love song but it was re-written and became a megahit. That or Let's Get Back (No Doubt) which goes with the 'don't leave me' theme but doesn't sound as sad and I think it has piano.

They were ok I guess, but I don't really like them. Hell, if Gavin wasn't married to Gwen I wouldn't have known about them or given their music a shot. I do like Swallowed, Dead Meat, Inflatable, and Letting The Cables Sleep though. Not much of a fan of post-grunge or grunge in general anyways.

LOL at the petition and the comments. Hey jackasses, its your choice to spend real money on the site. What, they're going to GIVE you gold for doing nothing? Then Gaia might as well be a dress-up site with generic outfits and a forum.

Oh, I was talking about how Vanessa Hudgens is a great role model, and a great actress, and a great singer.
Selena Gomez actually has a pretty singing voice, and is a great actress. I love her in Wizards of Waverly Place, she is just so freaking FUNNY! And, anybody could be a role model. People could want to look up to you because of your hair, your clothes, your smile, anything.

Super Girl - Hannah Montana

Really? Two nude pics leaking out = good role model? The second one was quite a bit after the first. She admitted that the first was real. Don't pull the : "oh, all the teens are doing this now, its NORMAL." argument. That's absolute bullshit. She knows she's marketing towards children and preteens.

Nobody's Perfect, that's a song by Miley Cyrus. You can't expect everyone to be little Barbie dolls, that are perfect and do everything right, because no one is like that. I believe Vanessa Hudgens is a wonderful role model, and a lot of people like her, so deal.

Super Girl - Hannah Montana

There's a fine line between being perfect and being careless. You'd think she'd learn from her mistakes and keep the nude pics to herself. Being in the spotlight, she should know that things like this could happen and that people can not be trusted with private pictures. Fine, I'll play along.

“Everyone’s in such a rush to show they’re sexy, anyone can be sexy. We all have the same body parts. It’s pretty boring. Life’s not so short that you need to give it all away in five seconds." - Gwen Stefani

Getting back on-topic: Black Eyed Peas, Lil Wayne, and the Disney crowd annoy the crap outta me.

What do you mean by "respected" and "looked up to"?
She's a great singer, and a heck of a role model.
She's a marvelous actress too.

It's All Right Here - Miley Cyrus

Heck of a role model?
And America wonders why our youth is getting stupider and stupider
What the hell has Selena Gomez done to be role model material?
She acts. And sings horribly. The end.

I like the fact that the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series exposes teens and adolescents to artists and musicians from past decades. Keeps the music alive, so to speak.

just had to : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ixtUByyqxw =D

What I don't get is all the bitching over the setlist. There will NEVER be a list for a game like this that will suit everybody. If you don't like it, don't buy it, I don't think the creators give a s**t whether you like it or not, they're still making millions.
