Rock Rebellion @oya: the only "bully" here is the OP.
anyway, im tired, and i ran out of coke, so im off to bed!
and i mean the drink sillies rolleyes
...as someone who has in the past received a warning for flaming the bejeezus out of someone for being cruel to another poster, the question that ran through my mind was, "Was it worth it?" not saying that I didn't break any rules.
I knew I broke them...and yes, it was worth it because I was watching a good idea get shot down by someone who was taking things way too personally.
Nobody here is trying to "ruin" the site for you. We're just calling attention to something that should be a very common concern for any web developer. That's all.
So at the end of the day, I hope this was worth it for you...to insult some people for wanting to improve the site.

Achenar Oya_Storm ...and by the way, the evolution thing works both ways. You're talking to an experienced webmaster who finds it backwards and "business impaired" to *not* be concerned about accessibility.
As a fellow web developer, while I agree accessibility IS a concern... to accomodate every single situation the site would have to be entirely text-based. The site as it is WITHOUT Flash is going to be a struggle for dialup users. I had dialup for years, and just dealt with it.
I do agree that some visibility options - whether that's removing the background elements when you 'dance' so that only the arrows are visible, or offering a full-screen larger version - would be a great addition next time they use this game. But the people talking about discrimination are off their nut. wink
Also, most of the people you're 'reporting' aren't trolling, they're giving feedback that's contrary to your opinion. You might want to be careful about that - abusing the report system is also an offense.
Reporting someone for trolling and abuse is not abuse of the reporting system. It's in place so that we don't have to waste our time arguing with sociopaths with a grudge against disabled people.
There are those who have made their point and even been funny about it, who I have no problem with. What I don't like is obsessives latching onto the topic and using it to be online bullies.

MoxRavager34 Oya_Storm MoxRavager34 God_of_Luncheon_Noodles Oh my, yes. I'm so selfish. That's why I work my a** off everyday at my job, and I come home with my paychecks, and have fun with my family. Because I must be useless, correct? Don't you ever insult me. Again, spend some time in a class that might teach you something about how the human brain reacts to stimuli. EVEN WITH KNOWN DISORDERS! I know the world can't just turn all eyes to me and adjust to my needs. Why, that'd be against the American way.
Just so you know, I work for my bread and I work for my home. I'm sure most of you kids just enjoy trying to knock people down so you can walk all over them. But then you realize you're up against an oppenent smarter than you, better than you, more lived than you. I'm sure Mommy and Daddy are paying your cell phone bill right now, or maybe even thinking about your car payment this month. Let me tell you, Until you can fully understand the world, don't move out of Mommy's house. Because the world is going to kick your a**.
I think you understand now wink
I'm inviting you to take a step back.
You should take that same step. All we're doing is giving our feedback. We're stating that we're left out of the event because of disabilities, and that, for us, makes it pointless.
What exactly is your problem with reality?
I'm trying to take a step back and show how this portraits to reality. Noodles is a hard working person who doesn't take s**t from her disorder but was getting caught up in this thread making her less like who she actually is. My prodding made her snap-out of her internet face and brought out who she is.
What I'm getting at is if someone has the will like noodle has we can live with not getting these items.
@noodles I was ruder then I should have been earlier, I think I've realized some things too from talking to you. Would you mind if I got you the 10 items as a peace offering?
Sure, we can live with being quarantined in asylums too.

stormylane Oh good gravy... I hate it when people throw the word discrimination around like that.
It isn't anything like discrimination.
And if you want Gaia to listen to your feedback... you can't go throwing hate words like that around.
Ok, I can't play the game. The arrow keys on my split wave keyboard are too small... I can't get all my fingers on them at one time.. or even close.
Not to mention I have fingernails. They also get in the way.
I'm not thrilled with the event... but, it's not discrimination. Some events I like & some I don't. I would love to be able to play this game if my keys weren't too small. The game seems like it would be fun.
With all the pressure webmasters have to make their sites accessible, one can't help but label it discrimination. It may not have been purposeful, but to totally ignore accessibility when it's one of the most discussed topics in web development, does make one look bad.
To have only games that require a specific set of physical skills is bound to set alot of people online against it. I'm not even sure if we're in the minority. I don't know what the hit counts look like, but from the item counts and prices, this is a low participation event.

Rock Rebellion WlPE OUT Rock Rebellion I laugh at people like this. People like you guys complain and complain that gaia isn't listen to it's users, but its the user who ask for a harder event. Now that you get one, Oh boo hoo, you have to work for you food, and now you don't wanna do it? too bad that some people can't do it. So what? That's life. Did users really ask for a harder event?
All that I saw last year was topics about flash issues/slow internet issues...ect along with how Gaia should not do a Flash game again.
Oh but first I need to wait for you to say something.....Oh, I was going to say something here about users but I bloody forgot....Just ignore this part of my post sweatdrop flash issues and slow internet is not of gaia's concern. Hey its not their fault you can't get with the times.
and yes, most people got tired of the "click and get item" event. So most of them ask for a harder event, so gaia did that.
and at OP. im very sorry to say this, but when god made evolution, he also made it so that not all humans are made equal in physical and mental health. He did however make then equal in spiritual health. Bring this down to a lvl, gaia and i are sorry that you can't do the event, but don't ruin it for the rest of us. But you can but the items in the MP. So its not like you can never get the items.
I'm curious as to why you figure that offering accessible alternatives to horizontal DDR would be "ruining" the event. That is far out of proportion of what we're asking for, which are basically games that require more than a limited set of skills...or at the very least, ways to participate in the event and gain rewards.
Exactly how would a war with Residents vs. GRS agents, or puzzles "ruin" this event for you?
...and by the way, the evolution thing works both ways. You're talking to an experienced webmaster who finds it backwards and "business impaired" to *not* be concerned about accessibility.
If the devs and admins simply don't care, that's their problem...but it is indeed a problem that they will pay for, not the users. So you can save the hostility because frankly, none of us will lose a cent from this.
From what I know of clickthrough ad revenue business though, I can say for a fact that between all the users who are posting, as well as the estimated who are not posting their discouragement, they've lose hundreds of dollars at least, just since this event has begun.
The *majority* of users may want something a certain way, but if the minority who is left out is big enough, that's still alot of money that they're not making because they don't care.
I love it when people get all nietzschian and darwinian. I actually read their works.

Good thing they don't have an event that requires full use of one's frontal lobe.

WlPE OUT This is why it is best to be a sheep in todays world.
If a genie appeared and told me I'd have the opportunity to have a perfect body, but I'd have to give up my independence and intelligence, I'd decline.
I'd rather be the worst wolf than the best sheep.

MoxRavager34 We are not trolling. I'm trying to point out that you think the world revolves around you.
You've been reported because nobody here expects the world to revolve around them, or has even implied such.
