what source to most Gaians get anime from? Go to post 63 Chatterbox Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:52 pm
Altomare

It's pretty disgusting to see how many people just download their anime like they have a ******** right to it. Well FYI people, anime isn't free. Neither is manga. BUY YOUR ******** ANIME AND MANGA. Be a real fan and save up money like the rest of us respectful people. Why don't you actually go out and buy them so you can ******** support all the people who slaved away making anime and manga for your watching and reading pleasures.

Seeing this many downloaders in one place puts a sour taste in my mouth. You people have no respect for your fandom. It is disgusting.

As for me, I buy my anime and manga. I save up and wait and buy my fandom and support the people who worked so hard for me. To date, I have only read one manga series online and I am damn ******** proud of that. I'm not taking part in the fall of the anime/manga industry and I'm not the slime of the general anime/manga following who steals their anime/manga because they think they have some legal right to it.

D I S G U S T I N G.

Please. Get off your high horse. Not everyone has the luxary of being able to just 'save up their money.'

Personally, most if not all of my money goes toward school and food or toward trying to get my novel done so that I can hopefully start making more money. What isn't used for that ends up being used for just that eventually anyway. Guess what ends up not being able to be bought?

So I can't buy it now; trust me, when I'm able, they'll be getting a good part of my paycheck no doubt.

I do a little of everything.

I sometimes buy anime DVDs if they aren't too expensive, though I mainly buy manga instead.

I read manga on the internet when I can't buy the books. I also watch anime online if I don't have the money for the DVDs.

I don't watch anime on TV much anymore, due to not having cable. If I could, I'd be watching Pokemon more often most likely. Possibly.
Your take on YAOI/YURI [READ first-post] -Updated:10/19- Go to post 1635 Anime/Manga/Comics Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:35 pm
Does your support for Yaoi/BL/Shounen-ai and/or Yuri/shojo-ai/GL affect your views on Gay Rights?

No. I supported gay rights before I ever got into yaoi/BL/shounen-ai/slash. However, my supporting it didn't spur me getting into yaoi either.

Do you think reading yaoi/BL/Shounen-ai manga like gravitation/loveless makes you a "yaoi" fan?

No, because Gravitation is not yaoi. It is BL/shounen-ai at best. Gravitation remix on the otherhand....

Yaoi vs. Yuri?
Yaoi preferred, but I don't turn my nose up at yuri.

How do you feel about fandom-yaoi/yuri and or SLASH (generic examples: MattxMello, TimmyxCosmo; ReixAsuka, LucyxNana)?
It's alright, though I have my own leanings (LxLight, KenshinxAoshi, etc.)

Do you like to read fanfictions?
Sometimes, yes. I also write it.

How do you feel about fanart? Does it get redunant?
It can, but so can original art depending on how the artist draws/paints/etc their subject. I also draw this.

Do you think Yaoi/BL/Shounen-ai and/or Yuri/shojo-ai/GL should be considered canon?
If it fits and the characters actually are gay/lesbian, then yes, it should be considered canon.

Does yaoi/Yuri is affect your veiws of religon?
No.

Have you played, or would like to play, any Yaoi/Yuri H-Games?
No, I haven't, and I ave no want of playing a yaoi or yuri game.

Note that along with yaoi, I also like MxF/het???. biggrin I go both ways when it comes to my anime/stories.

I use a few different mediums.

I use a mechanical pencil to draw the original drawing, then I use a pen to ink it.

I then use either coloured pencils or photoshop to colour the drawing.

I've also used charcoal pencils, though that's actually somewhat rare.

edit: This is what I get for skimming. stare I don't use crayons for the sheer fact that I don't like how it looks. I might try to use them again sometime, but overall, the times I had to use it it looked downright bad compared to how it would have if I had used pencil.

Did you use Google? Did you take the Safe Search off it?

Because I just searched anime without it, and it did bring up some...ahem...interesting images.
olny real perv would take it off.

Not really. I tend to take it off just because in my experience filters tend to take out the bad, but also some good images that really don't need it.

If this doesn't degenerate quickly, I'll be amazed. sweatdrop

Anyway, I'm a yaoi fan, though I also like...well, whatever you'd call mxf in anime. Het? Whatever.

I write both, come to think of it.

Are you sure you're typing in anime and not hentai?

I'm pretty sure they probably typed in 'anime'. Hell, once or twice I typed in 'Pokemon' and within a few pages I was up to my ears in hentai/porn. I saw more of Ash and Misty then I ever wanted to see at that time!

On topic though: No, anime is no inappropriate. Like all other types of entertainment, it is made for a certain group; some are for children, other for teens, others for adults. Some of men, some for women. So on and so forth.

Now, hentai on the other hand, is most definitely not appropriate, but it all isn't horrid either.
How much am I worth here? Go to post 5 Pricing, Assistance, and Suggestions Fri Oct 19, 2007 4:12 am
Yes, I'd like to set up a shop, but I'm not sure what prices I should have. sad Any help from you helpful people? smile

I am mainly referring to sketch-work, line art, and work coloured using coloured pencils, though I would like a suggested price for those that are coloured using photoshop too, as I am considering doing that too.
