GunsmithKitten would let a complete stranger totally trash the most meaningful part of her life?

This is the net, dear, and trash talk comes cheap and easy. If this had been a live conversation in the flesh, he would have gotten slapped twice; once by me, and once again by the friends I tend to surround myself with.

Anyway....

And it's still on topic, speaking to the validity of this lifestyle or at least Ivan/tt/your version of it. Ivan seems to think that I secretly yearn to leave my girlfriend, who I'd die for, behind to hook up with a Gorean male like him. Now tell me how good a reaction that would get if you told someone that in real life conversation?

Which leads me to point out my allergy to getting shot as being a Gorean Man is supposed to be My destiny too............. And I suspect going after two panther women would get me introduced to my allergy.

I commend you on having such an intelligent allergy such as that. ;D Smart cookie.

Ah man....people are hilarious.

Laura Bush is gorgeous!!!

She is a wonderful mother, had a superb career as an educator and now she is a goodwill ambassador to the Middle East in behalf of a woman's issue we can all get behind!

Look at what a Lady she is!! She's like the Queen of England, except we have liberty and justice for all here!!!! crying She is so beautiful!

Who the hell is she talking to? If you do not have the courage to show your face and the scars and bruises from all your beatings by your husband then maybe you do not have the courage required to have an opinion. Perhaps we should be curing women with the decency to show their face of their cancer before these women who are hiding under a bedsheet.

You know, we have people here in the US who wear bedsheets around and dress as ghosts because they are ashamed of who they are. We call them the Klan. It seems to me that when people dress like ghosts outside of halloween something stupid is going on.

And don't give me this more comfortable crap. Those are black bedsheets in a desert society. Perhaps I could buy it if they were white bedsheets.

Finally, Bush's appendage had to wear that. Seriously, if we are going to invade Iran we would need the help of these countries and having our leader's property running around like a free woman would most certainly not do in a country full of insecure men.

Oh, and a choice between wear it or be outcast and possibly stoned to death is not a choice, it is a survival tactic.

Go be an a*****e somewhere else. You are demanding that these women abandon their culture, and insulting them by calling a part of their clothing 'bedsheets.' How would you like it if they insulted your culture and clothing? You are making it a choice of stay with what you believe and die, or go against what you believe and live. Nice choices, eh?

And please. Do explain why women in America, the United Kingdom, so on and so forth STILL wear them, though they do not have the threat of being outcast and stoning, if that is the only reason they do?
What's wrong with MMOs? Go to post 75 Extended Discussion Mon Nov 05, 2007 2:16 pm

What level are you on? This game after level 30 seems to strip the motivation of completing the story from you.

FFXI is an example of a MMO that is not balanced at all. This game is designed to take over your life. Nearly everything takes so much time to do and it is definitely not for a casual player. Even the missions are not possible unless you becoming a higher level which reinforces other aspects of the game such as LB(level break). Which are nasty little missions to increase the level cap.

This type of hardcore MMO is a big problem because one struggles to juggle life and play. I loved this game but when you go back and calculate the hours its just ghastly. Hours that could have been spent going to the gym, spending time with friends, studying, working, developing a hobby, reading.. It is fun and if you don't mind giving away lots of time to this type of MMO then go for it. But It is a huge time stealer.

I clocked out at around 2600hrs of playtime(110days).

What you seem to be forgetting is that playing video games is a hobby of sorts. You'd give away a lot of time if you had any other hobby, too.

At some point I read a few magazine articles in fifth or sixth grade and found out that true love doesn't exist. I wasn't that disappointed, just amazed at this new idea. I actually love a lot of Disney movies. But it is stupid how in most of the fairy tales the girl meets the prince and 2 seconds later LYK OMG! IM N LUV! ^_^ They only get picked because they're pretty.

What articles "proved" that true love doesn't exist? Well, actually, a better question would be what you consider to be "true love." If you consider it to be never-ending all-consuming passion and infatuation, I would definately agree that it doesn't exist.

Disney definately implants some counter-productive ideas in little boys and girl's heads. It makes it seem like just setting up the marriage ritual is all it takes to make the relationship work for the rest of their lives, that only beautiful men and women are worthy of love, and it also perpetuates the stereotypes of women being weak submissive little things, and that men have to be rich and connected for anyone to give them the time of day. Wow. I don't like the social conditioning I've undergone, although Disney is definately not all to blame. I just wish there were more characters who are more gender neutral, you know? In real life almost everyone has a varying ratio of masculine and feminine traits.

Well, even though I doubt the Disney cartoons were this deep, you have to consider the time periods they took place in. Just by looking at the surroundings and their means (I'm mainly thinking of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella here), you can tell it ain't no modern time frame, and it was encompassing those times.

Wait, wait...you mean...you mean that a FICTIONAL, MAKE BELIEVE CARTOON does not depict real life? HOLY s**t, STOP THE PRESSES!

neutral For gods sake. If a child grows up believing they will be like Belle or Ariel, they are either A) ******** up in the head, or B) Have been subjected to bad parenting. I grew up around Disney. I watched Disney over and over and over again, and would to this day if I have the monies for the DVDs, and I plan on ensuring that my little sister sees them too. I knew the world wasn't perfect.

I knew my 'prince charming' was not going to come riding up on a white horse and carry me away to the castle to live happily ever after. Why? Because I was taught that fiction is just that - fiction. Made up. Pretend. Happy, but not real.

If you want to be mad at Disney for that, you might as well get mad at all these screenwriters, authors, and video game creators that create things that don't depict real life to a T. Seriously.

If you simply don't believe in the holiday, just put out your porch light and put a note on your door explaining so. Halloween is simply for fun and for kids to get a chance to try and scare one another.

That's not good enough for people like MsJessie. She has to forbid EVERYONE from celebrating it.

Does it seem like I'm unduely picking on her? Well, yes, I am, because she put forth the most innane argument for any kind of law I've ever heard in recent memory.

That's exactly why I made the post I did. She's wanting a double standard; respect your wish not to celebrate it, but do not respect someone else's wish to celebrate it. Stupid, much?
Wikapedia Go to post 57 Extended Discussion Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:43 am
I love Wikipedia. Yes, it can be edited by other people, but that is the reason why they have people to also monitor it: so that if an a*****e decides to muddle up an article, they can go in and fix it. They have to cite their sources too, so why should it be any less credible then the paper you are writing, using those same sources?

And while I can see the issue people have with using just Wikipedia - I don't even rely solely on it - it also doesn't warrant acting like they tried to eat your first born child because they use it as a source.

well halloween should be banned...i mean some people think because you ain't wearing customes like them, you..."wierd" i think its kind of stupid. To make the long story short, If you can't respect other people wishes, decisions, or choices, Halloween should be banned from school

Explain please, becuase going off what you just said, you are not respecting the wishes of those that want to celebrate Halloween, yet ask for respect for your decision not to? You contradict yourself.

I usually don't have a problem with it, but this year, there was one house on my street that went too far.

They hung from their tree on string a fake heart, severed head with a face contorted in pain, a severed and realistic looking hand, and a two headed baby.

The other things I could have tolerated, but a two headed baby?
That's not funny. That's gross. Stuff like that actually happens. That's when it stops being funny.

People kept taking it down until finally, someone stole it.

So they replaced it with a skeleton of a baby.
That's just grotesque.

So I don't really have problems with hearts, severed limbs or heads, but when it comes to things like dead babies, I don't laugh.

Yes, because people's limbs and/or heads never get severed, right?

To me, Halloween decorations should be scary. The kids should be scared of them. Halloween is not supposed to be a cutesy bunnies, rainbows, and kittens holiday. So if that means goring it up, so be it. Go for it. Hell, send me pictures! I love seeing gory Halloween set-ups.

Exactly.
Britain and America are responsible for more oppression than most other countries.
When 9/11 happened, who thought about why?
Did many Americans consider the innocent men, women and children that their president killed for the sake of a wild goose chase, while they were crying for the innocent american lives lost?
Nobody thought about WHY people would hate their goverment enough to do such a thing.
These are the things we should be thinking about, it's the west that has caused most of the damage done to the middle east, we should be thinking about electing the right people to end this war and give the middle east the help they really need, instead of complaining about f**king headscarves.
Or people could stop buying human hair that's forcibly shaved from women attacked in the street, or stop buying rocks that are broken by indian children, to decorate our gardens, or write to stores to ask them to stop funding child sweat shops.

Yeah, seriously. That's what I love about people that are blindly screaming about the attack on America. A murderer does not kill someone just for the hell of it. That rapist didn't rape that girl just for the hell of it. There was a reason behind it, no matter how shallow or misguided it was.

And no, that reason was not just that they dislike our "freedoms." We'd have a war over here, not over there, if that were the case most likely.
