I mean all forms of cancer. I have seen articles that say it might take more than 30 years. crying crying
Unlikely to happen in our lifetimes.
Cancer isn't really a single disease that you take a pill for and get cured. It's a wide variety of different types of abnormal cell growths. A "cure" is unlikely. A good library of different treatments and save options for different people is a better goal.

Probs 30-40 years actually.

But you never know.

Considering this, we don't even have a magic bullet for bacteria, virus or other forms of disease.

all cancer is cancer and therefore there can be something to counteract all cancers based on their similarities they have.

Um... assuming they break there will be more.

Ergo we won't have issues. blaugh

That's just simply not true, at least with foreseeable technology.

Cancers can arise from a variety of different genetic and environmental causes, a one shot cure for cancer is like a one shot cure for mental diseases, auto immune diseases or anything else.

Cancer is a personal disease, it's not like viral infections where the cause is a simple set of proteins where you find the drug to kill it and it works.

Saying all cancer is cancer and thus we can find a cure by what they have in common is like saying children is children and one day we'll have the perfect method to raise children because of their similarities.

That's wrong. Certain forms of cancer are already treatable. By your logic, we would already have the cure to all cancer now.

Radio-pharmaceuticals can cure certain forms of cancer but are too invasive to use on other types. Honestly, it would be a lot easier for people to take care of their bodies than to find the cure to cancer. The latter will probably never happen as there are only a finite amount of compounds that we can use to experiment and more of the unknown is destroyed every day due to deforestation and pollution. It's very likely that somewhere along the way, we already destroyed the cure to cancer.

oh right, i was thinking composition of cancers rather than how different locations have different problems with the different treatments. And yes, most people eat so unhealthily that eating broccoli once a week in the elderly reduced their chances of ddeveloping cancer by 40%, once serving a week and it is cooked, meaning ti has less antioxidants and stuff, eating it daily raw would probably be epic for your health, especially since its alkaline.

Maybe a few decades for a cure to one form of a cancer and never for all forms. Cancers will constantly mutate (or we find a new type we overlooked) and get around our cures and treatment in an infinite arms race with medicine and biotech (they'll never be out of a job). Same thing with other things like AIDS and bacteria. You get one down with a treatment and a new, resistant one takes its place.
