To add: with current research in neuroscience, we don't even know how attention is biologically related to pre and frontal cortex let alone how the neural pathways are modulated in terms of this attention in the lower hierarchical visual pathways. So if you want virtual reality, I would pick up on some neuroscience specifically cognitive neuro.

They have headset you can virtually 'view' things through, this is about as close as we have to being "physically" immersed within a program.


Besides they are more interested in building the latest weapons for war and creating biological mosquitoes to "carry vaccines" than to further things like this...
