Did you know that even though the left hemisphere of your brain controls the right side of your body and vice versa, you can have your brain bisected and go on living happily? But some people who've had that done report uncontrolled actions by their limbs. (For instance, one guy reported his left hand kept feeding him licorice, even though he hates licorice.) Weird, ne? The brain is fascinating.

Thats interesting. However the missing parts of the brain will likewise cause the person to exhibit loss of certain functions right?

I'm pretty sure that certain parts of the brain is responsible for specific things. If I remember correctly, the hypothalamus was supposedly "in-charge" of the feeling of hunger etc etc.

i heard of a 11 year old in india uses 12% of his brain and can actually focus the extra 2% on differant things like photgraphic memory or working on a math problem.

i heard of a 11 year old in india uses 12% of his brain and can actually focus the extra 2% on differant things like photgraphic memory or working on a math problem.

The human brain has always fascinated me and after reading this article, my interest has been rekindled. I do not wish to start a discussion about that article I mentioned, but would prefer to start a discussion regarding current brain research and information.


I do most of my things with the right side of my body. I believe in the theory that when you use the left side of your brain, you're using the right side of your body. So I use the left side of my brain.

I have seen some documentary about some left-handers who actually use quite a fair amounts of both halves of the brain.
