This is very sad. I wonder if meditation could offer them some regenerative time that lack of sleep denies them.

Meditation wouldn't be able to help them. Its not that they can't relax and recuperate. Their bodies aren't getting the necesary sleeo beeded to renew the bodily processes and what not. So, the body becomes so weak that it can do nothing but die.

You'd think a strong sedative would fix that. Well... I guess these families will have to hold out for a gene therapy solution.
