I'll always prefer real, paper books when it comes to books I read for my own satisfaction.
But, with my university books, they're sometimes impossible to come by.
Paying and then downloading it immediately from an online bookstore is so smooth and easy, so when it comes to work or studying, I think they're ideal.
I got a Kobo ereader for Christmas. I love it to death, but that hasn't stopped me from buying print books. What I am finding is that for some books I don't care if I own the digital or the hard copies. (The Hunger Games Trilogy is one of these) and others I want to keep and display so I buy those in hard copy.

I have found it great for textbooks as well. They are all on my ereader this semester for significantly less than the hard copies cost.
I've got a sony ereader and it's my baby.

well kindle works wirelessly just like cell phones or whatnot, so it could cause cancer, just liek cell phones and whatever else, wifi etc, plus people stare at enough screens these days.

Yeah, no.
Kindles work via radio-waves from wifi.
That, however, is not ionizing radiation.
If you're that afraid of radio waves, I hate to inform you that your body is constantly radioactive.
Potassium-40 and Carbon-14 are constantly within you.
In addition to that, radio waves are constantly around you.
Enjoy being afraid.

After all of that, I love my Kindle.
I would have had about 30lbs of books to carry around during my walking around going to my different classes.
That being said, I have to walk anywhere from 2 miles to 3 miles a day to get to everywhere that I am going.
So, it has proved a very valuable asset to myself.
Oh, and there's that little thing about books being 50% cheaper (sometimes more, sometimes less) than their hardcopy/paperback cousins.
It would cost me the exact same amount of money if I were to purchase them in the physical form, and then sell them back.
I, however, get to keep my book without selling it. So, I win in the long haul.

I don't have a kindle but my parent's do. It's great way to save money on printing copies and the forests that are cut down to make them, but I don't like the idea of reading off a tiny screen.

I think the interment in general can be to blame, not just tacking it all onto Kindle.
