Extra terrestrials: hostile, or friendly? What do YOU think?

The idea of outsiders from other worlds and galaxies has intrigued man since they first studied the stars. If aliens were to make first contact with humanity, do you think they would be here for hostile purposes or friendly purposes?

If they were friendly, they could have many reasons to visit Earth for a good cause, maybe for trade, maybe for curiosity, or common interests. With their form of constructivity, they could travel the stars after succeeding in making a peaceful and tranquil civilization for so long? Maybe they want to accept us into a alliance of some sort, after we're a technologically evolved race?

What if they're hostile? A crude, but powerful and technological race, bent on colonialization of other galaxies and planets? Or maybe their race is expanding, government or running system corrupt, and they feel the need to further expand their deployment of life.

What do you think and why?

Maybe it's a lot of galaxies or planets that are kind of like countries of the world. Some corrupt, some ultimately peaceful, some mass-exploration.

The Nuclear Age began, am I right? Starting with the Trinity Test on July 16, in the Alamagordo Bombing Range. That's about 200 miles from Los Alamos.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The uranium bomb, was dropped first at Hiroshima on August 6, while the plutonium weapon, followed three days later at Nagasaki on August 9.

It completely depends on the form of alien life. They could be psychologically Xenophobic and automatically be determined to kill all other forms of life...or have the same idea because the majority follow a religion that declares other life forms 'unholy'. Or they could be completely peaceful and willing to trade.

There is no real way to know for sure.

I think that the question of whether aliens are hostile or friendly won't be an issue in my lifetime.

It won't be an issue until we start expanding into space.

If and when that happens, we'll probably encounter other space faring life quickly, if it exists at all.

Such aliens have likely expanded throughout the universe, because - presuming they exist - they will have had quite a long time to do so.

They do not contact us now - again, presuming they do exist - because if they did, it would destroy our civilization. All of our technology would become obsolete overnight. Few would buy our current stuff, because there would be so much better out there. As a result of this, everything our economies are based on would quickly cease to be profitable.

In addition, it would take years if not decades to gear up our production to create the machines that would create the machines etc. which would be needed to make the technology. As such, we would be stuck relying on alien technology. The profits would go to the alien companies, not our terrestrial companies, and thus they would no longer turn a profit. As a result, these companies cease to exist once their reserves run out.

It's possible that they would simply show up, tell us they exist, but deny us access to their technology. This may cause resentment, and they may simply wish to avoid the technology issue altogether until it is no longer an issue.

Edit: Since they have not contacted or annihilated us at this point, I think it is safe to assume that they are not hostile. They may not be friendly, but they have no intention of annihilation at this time.

Edit: Also, keep in mind that if they have listening devices nearby - not necessarily audio, more listening for radio, etc. - that they are likely reading everything we are saying here, or having computers process it and highlighting the more important things. If the latter is the case, they are likely ignoring Gaia altogether.

This is all, of course, assuming that the life out there is smarter than us. I don't know why everyone assumes that intelligent life in the universe MUST be more advanced than humans. It is very well likely that there is a race of aliens out there that is like us but not as advanced, just as it is likely that there is a race of aliens out there that is more advanced than us but not so much that they can travel faster than light or communicate across such vast distances. This would very well explain why no contact has been made.

Fun Fact: With a bit of math and guess work, you will find that there should be at least ~88 planets in our galaxy with life that has equal than or greater intelligence than us. There was a very accurate simulation of such a situationwhen whites invaded the American West. Especially when Vasco de Gama the Spanish sailor and his men found themselves in what is now Central America and they were treated like God's.

There were varied reactions between the intergration of Whites and Natives Americans, the spontaneous reaction was war/trade/worship/plundering them.... there is not one set reaction. The question is what would WE do when confronted by aliens, that gives an accurate estimation of what they would do.

Image one:

We see here, a map of South America, Antarctica, and Africa. If you look closely, doesn't seem like the map was viewed from a satellite? Like how South America is a tad thin and its bottom is a tad long.

Image Two:

Now you see what I mean. This second image is a world map, made in more modern days, taken by a satellite with a Convex lens. See how they are similiar? How did Piri Reis, the maker of the map in the first image, make a map so closely resembling a picture taken by a satellite long before such a thing existed?

Image Three:

Ah, this is a close-up of the first image, showing Antarctica. Just south of the boxed area, is a mountain range. But this mountain range is special. It is encased in ice and cannot be seen with the naked eye. You either need a satellite, or a sonar device (Which is how the mountain range was found many years later) to see this range.

This is just more damning evidence showing not just that aliens are real, but that they are more intelligent than us. As previously said, for more information, check out Chariots of the Gods.

I bet that alien life, if we do meet it, will probably not be anymore intelligent than we are. If anything, I'm guessing it will be bacterial or fungal. Slime on rock can't exactly be either hostile or friendly. I bet alien life will be so different from us that those concepts won't really apply.

If an alien civilization were to be hostile, I'm sure they would self-destruct before establishing colonies on other worlds. That is, if their social system is similar to a human one.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure. Social structures, if any, play a huge role in this. But I'm assuming most space faring alien civilizations would be benign. smile Because if they are at peace within their own social structure, why would they need to go destroy other civilizations?

It's interesting to think about, I see a lot of possibilities here.
