While I support the theory of evolution, I must say this:
Who is to say that evolution was not the means by which God created the creatures of the Earth? In the original translation of the new testament the word used to define what we know as the "7 days" really means "7 periods of time".
We cannot exclusive disprove God's involvement in evolution, or even our own "human" advancements.

The bible doesn't contradict reality. The bible contradicts rationality. And rationality is how you understand how reality works. Very different things.

Not quite. Biological evolution claims that all LIFE came from a common ancestor, where as the bible states that all PEOPLE came from a common ancestor. The biblical version also doesn't have any type of biological evolution; man came from man, man came from dirt as a man, and that man will always be man. Debunking that a man came from the same animal that a "monkey" came from does not in any way affect the theory that man came from dirt as is.
"Monkey thing" ===> Man

Monkeys and Humans share a common ancestor, but they're not related in the direct sense.

This is why there is a 1% or so difference between the genes of a human and a monkey.
