Find a way to reverse the second law of thermodynamics and we'll talk.
theres already biological immortal species.

What's the point, it's /only/ biological. Can it assure continuity of consciousness?

I'm sure the OP meant immortality useful for humans

Otherwise, /thread.

humans can become biologically immortal. Which would be useful.

Not sure we're on the same wavelength here, so I'll just leave it at that.

We are obviously not at the same wavelength, the best use of forums like this are to understand other wavelengths not just find people to agree with you on every subject, and of course more specificity could improve communication.

Same could be said to you. But lets keep this polite.

I believe it was something like by 2060 they say immortality will be figured out. Makes sense, especially with all the nano-particles around, like the red blood cell one. But meh, I say it will take much longer to find a way to keep the brain from 'aging'.

Not sure about my lifetime, but maybe in the next 200 years or so.

I did read somewhere that with research in nanotechnology, they're hoping to somehow figure out a way to create immortality.
But even if I was given the opportunity, I don't think I'd ever want to become immortal. I just couldn't see myself living for so long and actually enjoying it.

I wouldnt trust nanobots. but with immortality theres always something different to try, the world always changes, and theres always something new to do or learn. And eventually if that alone isnt enough then after so many years you could suicide anyways. But I would wonder how a biologically immortal organism might change over time because of epigenetics and such.

Do you think we'll see the end of the Christian, Catholic, and Muslim faiths in our lifetime?

I think not emotion_awesome

What about Jews?
We'd all die regardless.
I wish but I doubt it. I'd like to become immortal (but perhaps allow myself to die when I grow tired of living). Of course I don't think that it'll happen in my lifetime. Shame.
