2012 prophecy: true or false?

The day of the event is wrong, it happens every 2,500 years. The next time it will happen is on 12/21/12.
Theres three things that could cause the end of the world.
1. The Poles shifting.
2. The theory of a scientist that the 11th planet will crash into us. This guy's theory say that when the solar system was created, three planets avoided being
destoryed by changing it's orbit into the outer solar system. The orbit isn't circler
so it could crash into planets.
3. The earth could change it's orbit so it could temporary get closer to the sun or farther away from it.
Two and three is unlikely more the number one.
I say that nothing going to happen and alot people will get arrested for being stupid.

To me it seems that the information that Nostradamus said 12/12/12 to be the end of the world carries even less truth in it as his prophecies themself. I doubt he would have written the year 3797 as the last year of his prophecy period into that preface if he would actually have believe the year 12/12/12 to be the last year of earths existance. Furthermore as much as I know none of his prophecies had a date stated when it would happen.

Anyway according to information from Vogtsphere that will be the date when they will build their hyperspace bypass so don't forget your towel then wink

It not a prophecy at all. In fact the Mayan calendar does not end 12-21-12 it simply resets. This is not unlike the odometer on a car when it hits 9 it goes to 0 then back to 1 again. Does your car explode? NO! Its more of a galactic new year then anything else. Its known in the astronomy community as "the day nothing happens". we have religious bible fanatics who cannot see past their own nose much less far enough to bother looking for historical facts. Check out Philip Plait...google him....if you are still worried...stop now..its stupid.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. Then the next day people will wake up, and be embarased they actualy belived it was going to happen. Then some nutcase that needs to be introduced to one of those white coats with extralong sleeves that pramotes self love will say that it will actualy happen in 2024. This will continue in one large circle until someone in god only knows what century will eventualy get it right.

They say the worlds ending due to a planet, but this planet cannot be harmful at all, as it is out of our solar system at this moment, they (at the minute) are watching it carefully.

The planet's name is Nibiru, you'll see people trying to scare us into believing what they say if you research it, but I just look at the pictures, so im not suprised when it shows up around earth atleast.

The famed accuracy of the Mayans only applies to their astronomical predictions. They could not have predicted a pole shift, and any object that was going to impact us this soon would be clearly visible. Not to mention that the date is not even a prediction - it's the Maya equivalent of the turn of the millennium. The doomsday theory only came about from some crackpot psuedoscientist (in this case, José Argüelles) trying to get rich quick - as with every other doomsday prediction in history.

Oh, and if there were another planet regularly crossing our orbit ("regularly" being a relative term), our own orbit would be severely messed up by now, maybe to the point where life might not have developed at all. When something as small as Pluto (smaller than our own moon) can affect the orbit of something as large as Neptune by crossing its orbit, anything large enough to be called a planet that passes through our orbit could not possibly leave our planet revolving just as it did before.
