Not to long ago I got this idea and I really wanted to try it out with the gaia community. I live in a small town and all my friends aren't into exercising. In this thread I'm encouraging everyone to track the time and distance of their run or walk and post it. If you have time post an encouraging quote or suggest a song to other runners to listen to on their run.

Tell us about your run and what you're having problems with. Welcome to the online running support group. I hope to see progress not only in my own runs but yours as well!

I ran 2 miles today in 20 minutes, Can anyone suggest some songs with a faster beat to pick up my pace?

I just got back from a 3 mile run in 48 minutes. I always find Bon Jovi speeds up my pace. lol

Nice 3 miles! I substituted my usual run with a 2 mile hike. What is your favorite song from Bon Jovi song?
Haven't run with music for over a year, and I'm still getting quicker times now than I did back then.

Seems to me that music is good to motivate you to actually go out and push yourself, but once you're into the habit of pushing yourself the music is just a distraction.

Maybe that's just me?

This is a good idea. Today I ran 5 kilometres in 34 minutes and 20 seconds. Last week it was 36 minutes so it's a pretty big improvement. I run with a runners group, and I always fall way behind everyone else, so I'm aiming at increasing my speed.

Sounds like everyone who's posted is making good progress. I hope you keep motivated! Make sure you stock up on lots of carbs and protein after your run. You can buy whey powder in different flavors, my favorite is cookies and cream.

I ran 5 ks in 31:49 today. It was a different course that was a bit flatter, but I definitely pushed myself harder.
