Hello all BL fangirls and fanboys! Welcome to BLood Play Arts, the art shop that sells ONLY BL artworks! No girls here! XD Only pretty boys "playing" with other pretty boys! ^_^ All artworks will be created by me, Caleyndar.

If this sounds like your kind of shop, read on! (But be warned - I'm not cheap. You'll probably think I'm asking too much. XD )

Oh, and if you answered "... what the hell is BL? o_O" in the poll, BL stands for Boy's Love. Some people might call it Yaoi or Shounen Ai or Slash or m/m. In otherwords, relationships that involve two pretty males in an intimate way!


Things to Note:

This is a LIMITED art shop - meaning it won't be around forever. I will only be taking on a maximum of 15 artworks altogether, and the completed artworks will very likely be published in an anthology BL art book alongside artworks by other BL artists. Full credit will of course be given in the book for the character concepts.

So... who am I to open an art shop such as this... Well, my name is Caleyndar, and I am the Author and Artist of Divinitas, a BL illustrated novel that's posted online since 2001. I've been drawing in an anime & manga influenced style since around 2000, and have drawn bishounen (pretty boys!) almost constantly (though yes, I do draw a few girls here an there - just not in this shop!) since then.

The characters I illustrate are often more sadistic and angsty and emo rather than fluffy and cute, and my artworks often have an underlying BDSM theme... a collar here, a ribbon and chain there, a pose that is suggestive of power play... I don't really do fluffly cute artworks... If there's blood and bondage, I'm extremely happy. XD Even if the character is by themselves in the artwork... daggers and swords and chains and collars and blood and floggers (cat!) often make an appearance. XD So yes... that's my leaning when it comes to drawing art. Give me that, and I'm happy, and the person commissioning me is happy, because they'll get a decent artwork. XD

Most of the artworks I draw are sketched on paper, inked, and CGed in full colour in PhotoShop, though I do dabble in screen toning B&W artworks (mostly manga pages...) and sometimes water colour paintings.

Below is a list of my Preferences, Will Do, and Won't Do. Try not to make me tear my hair out if you do decide to make a request... read my preferences first, because if it doesn't interest me, I won't take the request.


Preferences:

~ Mythical themes
~ Black (leather...) clothing with lots of detail & belts & buckles
~ WINGS!
~ BLADED WEAPONS! (Swords, daggers, scythes, etc)
~ Collars and Chains and Ribbons
~ S&M / BDSM themed artworks
~ Asian styled clothing (kimonos and similar)
~ Capes & long black coats
~ Skimpy clothing
~ EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita - yes... I WILL draw pretty boys in dresses!)
~ Elegant sadistic semes
~ Resisting unwilling ukes
~ Jewellery



Will Do:

~ BL (M/M) artworks with beautiful / elegant character designs
~ ORIGINAL characters (no fanart!)
~ DARK artworks with vivid colours
~ Artworks that have some power play / tension in them
~ Pretty boys in EGL clothing, as long as they are FLAT (I'm not stuffing a bra!)
~ Limited Armor (not full dress... something like shoulder & shin guards, etc)
~ Cat/puppy ears & tails, horns
~ Additional animal / mythical characters (extra charge applies)


Won't Do:

~ Girls & Women! (Eee! Girl Cooties! XD)
~ Fanart! (You MUST have copyright of the character concept/design)
~ Fluffy happy cuddly characters (they can be innocent & young looking... but they can't LOOK HAPPY OR JOYFUL! ... happy smiles aren't my thing... unless it's a sadistic EVIL smile - then it's totally my thing!)
~ Males characters that are macho - I do NOT do bulging muscles, EVER
~ Facial Hair. X_x Or any hair on the body other than on top of their heads!
~ GUNS & Mecha
~ Science fiction / superhero themed outfits
~ Anything that encloses the head (half masks, glasses, etc, are okay, but NO HELMETS or hoods!)
~ Anthropomorphic characters; so HUMAN faces/hands only!
~ Excessive WHITE clothing (I rather HATE CGing white... but hair is okay, as is a bit of white clothing here and there)
~ Bald heads... Bishounens MUST have hair! X_x
~ Nudity beneath the waist line level, though undone belts/buttons on pants at the front are okay as long as nothing is showing!
~ Children - characters have to be at least LOOK the age of consent.
~ Old characters (this is, after all, a BL - BOYS Love - art shop)
~ Trees... because when I did some for one of the pics, it was rather... painful... X_x

The following are the rules you MUST understand and abide by if you chat on this thread and/or make an art request. If you do not agree to any of them, please do not post and do not make a request.


1. Serious requests/orders only - once you make a request, and it is accepted, there's no withdrawing.

2. No flaming - if you think my art sucks, that I'm asking too much for it, etc, keep that to yourself. I believe my art is worth what I'm asking, and if you don't, then it's very simple for you to just leave the thread and ignore its existence.

3. If you DO make a request, you understand that the completed artwork may be published in an anthology art book, and you give permission for me to freely do this if I decide to include your commissioned artwork. You will be credited in the art book with something similar to "Characters concepts created by ..."

4. A single artwork can take me up to 2-3 months to complete. Whilst you can request for an update and jokingly act the master with the whip to whip me along to make me do your artwork faster, don't seriously HARASS me about it. i.e. keep it in the forum and as a role-play and out of the PMs.

5. Needless to say, since it's been covered in the Introduction and the Will Do / Won't Do section, this shop is for MALE characters only. No females. And of course, the artwork content must be BL (Boy's Love) orientated - so at least 2 characters in the same artwork, being "playful" *coughplayfullyviolentcough* with each other.

6. Gaia Online's Terms and Conditions apply, so nothing over PG-13 can be requested - though I will most likely push the limits of PG-13 in some cases. Hahahahaa. X_x In other words... just nothing overly violent / gory / sexual / frontal nudity, etc. Sensuality is fine though, as is tasyeful bondage, kissing (lips, neck... collar bone... anywhere, really...), light grouping, light nudity, etc. If you're unsure if I will do what you want in an artwork, post / PM me about it first.

7. Follow the payment and order requirements. Trade must be initialised before I put pencil to paper.

8. Please don't ask for Freebies, because I'm not offering them in this shop. Requests for free art generally really agitates me, because I spend so much time and effort on my art, I believe it's worth a lot more than nothing.

9. For Open Slots - It is NOT first come, first serve. The slot will remain open until a request comes along that really catches my eye. This might be the first request I get for an open slot, or it might be a few down the line - it really depends on what I get commissioned to do. In other words, I'll only do the request that interest me, and that I feel will fit well into the art book. Bribing me with more than what I'm asking will also sway my decision. XD But first and foremost, is interest in the characters and what you want me to draw of them.

10. DON'T say you'll give me a tip if you like the end result when you make a request. That is, please don't say something like "+ tip if I like it" because in the end when the artwork is all done and delivered, and you don't add a tip, I then get all depressed and think you hate it and are lying when you tell me you do like it. >_> I'm an artist. I have slumps and easily become insecure about my work. >_> Don't be the one to make me depressed. I'd rather never hear that you might tip me if you like it.Then I don't look forward to anything! (And I do the same job with or without the promise of a tip anyway. razz )

CGed Coloured Artworks = These are the type of artworks this shop offers. They are sketched on paper, and once approved, digitally inked, and CGed in PhotoShop. They are full colour, and come with at least a simple BG (Full Body pics generally have a more detailed BG).

Threesome Artworks: In other words, 3 pretty boys in the same artwork, being touchy-feely-violent with each other. XD Artworks with 3 characters in it must be either Three Quarter or Full in terms of pose/layout.

Additional Mythical Beast: It's not shown in the samples... but what you'll be getting in this type of artwork is, of course, two male characters PLUS a Mythical creature e.g. dragon, griffin, phoenix, whatever... but you need to provide visual references, and if I don't like the creature, then I reserve the right to reject the request. The additional mythical creature is treated as a third character, thus the same price as the Threesome artworks.

Well, if you've read through the previous post with the art samples and prices... you'll know how much I'm asking for my art. This post is for the the Pricing & Payment Guidelines, and the Lists of Items I am willing to take as payment.


~ Pricing & Payment Guidelines ~

1. I take payment in Items and/or Gold. I prefer a mixture of Items AND Gold, with the bulk of the payment in Items. See below of the list of items I want.

2. The maximum number of items you can include in your payment is 5 (meaning you can only include 5 or less Items in your payment - the remainder will need to be paid in Gold).

3. Don't worry about market place fluctuations on the price of items used as payment. Once I've accepted your request, and the trade as been created, even if the items you've sent as payment drop down to ZERO, I will still of course honour the contract (because yes, an order in this art store is a contract once it's been accepted!). In other words, the price of the items need only add up to the required amount at the time of your art request. Needless to say, this also works in reverse. i.e. If the items you've paid in sky rocket during the course of the art creation process, you still only get what you requested for initially.

The Ordering & Art Process:

1. Fill in the form below and place the order on this thread.
2. I will either accept it, or tell you why I can't accept it.
3. If accepted, initiate the trade for payment.
4. I accept the trade, and start sketching.
5. Once the sketch of your artwork is completed, it is sent to you for approval.
6. Sketch is approved, or edited as required.
7. Artwork is completed in B&W screen tone or CGed in Colour as you ordered.
8. Preview of the completed artwork is sent to you for approval.
9. Artwork is approved (or small changes made).
10. Trade is finalised.
11. I send you the finished artwork at a larger size and without watermarking.
12. (Hopefully) Everyone is happy!

Artworks can take me up to 2-3 months to complete.
