How to report a Bug

First thing to do when a member contact you regarding a possible bug:

1. Check an announcement!
If user experience a problem during some new project push it is probably
temporary and will be resolved after push is completed.

2. Can you reproduce the problem?

To make sure the problem is real:
Clean up the cache and cookie
Log out and log in back
Is it still reproducible?
If it is reproducible, please provide the following information:

OS: Mac? Win? WinXP?
Browser: IE6? IE7? FF? Safari? Opera?
Version: FF 2.0.5? FF 3? IE7 sp 2?
Brief description of the problem
steps to reproduce:

4. Please report 1 bug in 1 post

REPORTING A BUG

Provide detailed and useful information when reporting!
The purpose of reporting a bug is so that later on a Developer will have enough information to reproduce the problem and resolve it. Reports made that do not provide useful information and are vague with no detail will be deleted.

Be descriptive in your title
Don't just put "Bug" in your title. For example, if something like Cinemas isn't poping up, put "Gaia Cinemas isn't popping up Bug."

Here's an example of how to write a bug:


Computer Specs:
Windows Vista Home Edition
Internet Explorer 7.0.6000.16609
Flash 9.0.115.0

Location:
Slots (Upper right hand corner of game)

Bug:
Playing winnings button does not work when you have over 10 winnings awarded

Reproduction:
1) Go to www.gaiaonline.com/
2) Log in as a user: user name and password
3) Go to the web page www.gaiaonline.com/games
4) Click on Slots
5) Pick any available room
6) Click on the Join button
7) Click on the Play Token button
cool Click on the Spin button
9) Repeat steps 7-8 until you have at least 10 winnings awarded

*Current winnings will display the number 10, right below Tickets and Tokens on the left center side

10) Click on the Play Winnings button

Result:
The button will not work. The current winnings do not decrement (decrease). The spin button does not work since no winnings or tokens are used.

Notes:
Any useful information goes here, such as how often this occurred.

If you notice for the above bug, it is very detailed and concise. If you were to go through the reproduction steps, you should be able to reproduce the bug, or if it is uncommon, occasionally reproduce the bug. smile

Notice how everything is vague? If you were to try to go through the steps again, you would not have a clue where to start. Try to be as detailed as you can by giving any information such as: computer information and what you were doing before, if you used any power ups, etc. This way we can narrow down the possibilities.

In the marketplace, it says Wintertide Cap can be bought for 15 gold in the shop, but it's 15 wing stickers!

I don't know if this is considered a bug but I have been trying to sell my Blessed Stellarite and I saw in the marketplace that it claims there is a sell back value, well there is not, I go to the inventory page, click on the item, and there is no sell back option. I have 5 Blessed Stellarites and I want to get rid of them, asap.

Hi, This is not a bug, there's no option to sell this item back to store. If you want to get rid of it, sell it in marketplace.

Towns 2 and Holley Wood is where im experiencing bug


so when i use arrow keys to move only the UP and DOWN rrows allow me to move LEFT and RIGHT do absolutly nothing

also when clciking more often then not also doesnt = movement

is not lagging because chat is fast everything i type shows up instantly and is instantly responded to

also everytime i load a new area in towns 2 i have to open the phone thing and move teh speed slider to the far right just to move fast again ... why doesnt it just stay where i put it
When I equip and turn on the animation for Astra-11: Lucky Clover, instead of getting the falling clover animation like I should, it just turns my entire avi green! gonk

I'm running Windows Vista & IE9, but it still happens when I equip it & turn on the animation in Firefox as well.

Short description of the problem:
I never recieved the cheercrusher achievement, after destroying 18 decorations. The requirement was only 17. I have a screenshot of the number i destroyed i can email if necessary.

Browser: Firefox 18.0
Operation system: Windows Vista Home Premium


Step 1- Log onto www.gaiaonline.com

Step 2- Enter username and password

Step 3- Gain energy by posting and gifting.

Step 4- Destroy 18 decorations.

Step 5- Check achievements for cheercrusher, screenshot destroyed decorations just in case.

Suppose to Result: Recieve cheercrusher for destroying 17 decorations.


Act result: Waited a while to see if there was a lag in acheivement granting but still haven't recieved it.

I have a problem since one week. I can't buy anything in Phin Phang's shop.
I have Windows 7, and the browser what i'm using is IE9.
i tried to log out and log in to gaia almost everyday now since i have this problem, but it doesn't work. when i click on some item to buy it, the whole page is jumping to the top of the page.
I'm not sure what the problem is. plz help!

Short description of the problem: At two separate times today, I attempted to buy G-Cash through the Android app. I was charged both times, but I wasn't given any G-Cash.

Device: Droid Bionic
Browser: N/A
Operation system: Android 4.0


Step 1- Log onto the App

Step 2- Go into the cash shop

Step 3- click the link to buy G-Cash

Step 4- Select 500.

Step 5- Accept the terms.

Step 6- Watch a pop-up appear that says "Server Side Error" or something to that effect.

Suppose to Result: Sell me G-Cash


Act result: Take my money and give nothing back.

Hi,

The bug had been fixed on Friday night, and since the grant failed, If you load up the Gaia App, go under the cash purchasing flow and then cancel, Google will actually restore the transaction.

But we can also grant the GCash if you provide the transaction number to us.

Cannot Load Alchemy Page.

Couldn't open it since alchemy was introduced. I've tried all the links and shortcuts to it, and different browsers and computers, but I still cannot open the page. My mules can enter the alchemy page alright, so I think it's only this account which has the problem. Hope you can fix it. Thanks.

Hello there i am having problems with the site myself, whenever i try to log out it's not logging my profile out, whenever i go from the home page to the my gaia page my gold amount changes the gold amount i have on this thread is 7,383 at the home page it's 5,443 it changes on different pages. I haven't been able to get the daily item thing(sorry as of now i can't remember what it is called) it doesn't appear, only appears on two of the pages which is the forums page and the world page. Another thing is that when i'm at the my gaia page it says i have a new message, when i don't. The type of computer i'm using is a windows vista can anyone help me?
