How to report a Bug

First thing to do when a member contact you regarding a possible bug:

1. Check an announcement!
If user experience a problem during some new project push it is probably
temporary and will be resolved after push is completed.

2. Can you reproduce the problem?

To make sure the problem is real:
Clean up the cash and cookie
Log out and log in back
Is it still reproducible?
If it is reproducible, please provide the following information:

OS: Mac? Win? WinXP?
Browser: IE6? IE7? FF? Safari? Opera?
Version: FF 2.0.5? FF 3? IE7 sp 2?
Brief description of the problem

REPORTING A BUG

Provide detailed and useful information when reporting!
The purpose of reporting a bug is so that later on a Developer will have enough information to reproduce the problem and resolve it. Reports made that do not provide useful information and are vague with no detail will be deleted.

Be descriptive in your title
Don't just put "Bug" in your title. For example, if something like Cinemas isn't poping up, put "Gaia Cinemas isn't popping up Bug."

Here's an example of how to write a bug:


Computer Specs:

Bug:
Playing winnings button does not work when you have over 10 winnings awarded

Reproduction:
1) Go to www.gaiaonline.com/
2) Log in as a user: user name and password
3) Go to the web page www.gaiaonline.com/games
4) Click on Slots
5) Pick any available room
6) Click on the Join button
7) Click on the Play Token button
cool Click on the Spin button
9) Repeat steps 7-8 until you have at least 10 winnings awarded

*Current winnings will display the number 10, right below Tickets and Tokens on the left center side

10) Click on the Play Winnings button

Result:
The button will not work. The current winnings do not decrement (decrease). The spin button does not work since no winnings or tokens are used.

Notes:
Any useful information goes here, such as how often this occurred.

If you notice for the above bug, it is very detailed and concise. If you were to go through the reproduction steps, you should be able to reproduce the bug, or if it is uncommon, occasionally reproduce the bug. smile

Notice how everything is vague? If you were to try to go through the steps again, you would not have a clue where to start. Try to be as detailed as you can by giving any information such as: computer information and what you were doing before, if you used any power ups, etc. This way we can narrow down the possibilities.

Bug Description: After removing members from my guild for inactivity, my total members changed to 4294967050, despite that I only have 40 members in my guild.
The issue with this, is I can no longer send guild announcements, because I have insufficient funds. It's counting the phantom over 4 billion members, which obviously the guild account does not have enough gold for.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Log onto www.gaiaonline.com
2. Go to http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds-home/d-gray-man-black-order/g.85007/
3. Go to Member List at http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/memberlist/id.85007
4. Remove a member from the list, check the box marked "Removing user due to inactivity in guild."
5. Click submit.
6. It now registers that I have 4294967050 members.

I don't know if the developers already were working on it, or if the glitch worked itself out, or if they fixed it really quickly, but it's been fixed! c: Thank you!!

Bug:
fame star masquerade ultimate prize: spice the pumpkitten did not receive it

Reproduction:
1) Go to www.gaiaonline.com/
2) Log in as a user: user name and password
3) Go to the web page market place
4) Go to search and look up fame star masquerade and buy it
5)Go to my gaia then click inventory, click special, and then click the famestar masquerade, click the lets rock button when picking the team pick chromatic chaos or the other team which i cannot remember what the name is, and then click on the bring on the bring it on button to the very end and win
6) Click on the claim your prize
7) result is supposed to be the spice the pumpkitten.

Result:
No spice the pumpkitten just other items I got before like stereo hearts.

Notes:
THIS IS A CHANCE ITEM, so duplication will be hard.

I played both sides got to the end on both sides, won and did not receive the item..
It is getting really annoying. stressed

Bug: Avatar doesn't display or save.

Reproduction:
1. Go to www.Gaiaonline.com/
2. Log in as a user: username and password
3. Click on avatar on top of page (or My Gaia -> Avatar) to get to dressing room
4. Make any changes
5. Click 'Save' button

Supose to Result: New changes are saved to current avatar.

Result: The following message appears:
"
Save failed, please try again.
Reason: The item was not found in your inventory.
If the problem persists, click on “Get Nekkid”, save your avatar, and try again.
"

Note: If "Get Nekkid" is clicked and I try and save the same message pops up.

Note: I think that everything is working except the 'save' button because as soon as I make any changes (both (un/)equipping items and changing poses, mouth expression, etc.) the 'save' button lights up and when I click 'reset' it dims again. I just can't see these changes occurring because the avatar doesn't display (Please note, displaying an item on my avatar in shops or the marketplace still works fine.).

Note: I am reasonably sure that this is a problem with the account not the computer. I have tried logging into my account on other people's laptops (running various different browsers and operating systems) and I got the same result. I have also got one of my friends to log in on their account on my laptop and their dressing room worked fine.

Short description of the problem:
I'm trying to add fish to my aquarium,mostly the one's from daily chance/dumpster dive. It 'saves' them,but if I feed them,they die(they get x's for eyes) or if I save and leave to come back they are in my inventory again. This has been happening for 3 days now...please help

Step 2- complete daily chances for each page and dumpster dive

Step 3- go to my aquarium. Add fish gained from the marketplace, daily chance/dumpster dive: 2 Aquarium Cathulus, 2 aquarium spikeys, a watermeat(lite),and a kiki kitty(lite)

Step 4- save aquarium. Feed fish.

Step 5-leave page or refresh.

Suppose to Result: Fish are supposed to live.


Act result: feeding the fish kills them, and leaving the aquarium page or refreshing the page puts the fish back into my inventory.

This is still occuring from a week ago....please fix it

Step 1- Log onto www.gaiaonline.com-Fail

Step 2-Try to login again- Fail

Step 3-Type in the security words/numbers- Fail

Step 4-Try to login once more but with facebook and then on my cell phone -Fail

Step 5-Ask for it to be sent to my email but changing password still won't let me log in. -Fail

Suppose to Result: Me being able to log into my Golden_Kitty account.


Act result: It continues to tell me that my password/username is wrong despite me typing it in right, and even trying to log on with facebook and my phone.


Note: I tried to log on with my firefox browser, but it does the exact same thing.

Why the sponsors (V11 Videos and Matomy) are bilking the gaia users?

They don't pay the GaiaCash since friday 02/24, and don't reply the messages...

On the Matomy case, they lie showing this message for all watched videos:

"Watch this amazing video
Status: VIEWED
Amount: 85 Gcash per $1 spent
Offer ID: ********** Viewed: Feb 26, 2012 03:26:02"

I watched only the videos that pay 1, 2 and 3 Gaia Cash only.

Bug: Avatar Does Not Save and Items have disappeared and other items have duplicated icons
(Note: Even though I now have two Eternal Emperors where I used to have one they both operate as one item and can only be equipped with one pose at a time. By clicking the other eternal emperor I negate the pose of the first no matter what pose it was in.)

Reproduction:
1. Go to www.Gaiaonline.com/
2. Log in as a user: username and password
3. Click on avatar on top of page (or My Gaia -> Avatar) to get to dressing room
4. Make any changes
5. Click 'Save' button

Supose to Result: New changes are saved to current avatar.

Result: The following message appears:

Reason: The item was not found in your inventory.
If the problem persists, click on “Get Nekkid”, save your avatar, and try again.

Note: After repeatedly trying to save the item by doing what the message instructed I eventually lost my 2nd Generation Zodiacal, One of two my Juno's Laces, My Black Audrey Gloves, and my Serecila Pendant.

I now have 4 Egyptian Gold Bracelets, Two Audreys Black Ankle Strap Heels, 2 Golden Dragons and 2 Eternal Emperors. Each of the duplicated items seem to have multiplied by two.

I have tried everything requested above and I even attempted using a new computer and brower to correct the problem I have found no success.
