Welcome to Gaia! ::

I blame cartoons & parents. Cartoons, I mean... think about it
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Samurai Pizza Cats
Big Bad Beetleborgs
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
Biker Mice from Mars
Beast Wars (which was actually kinda cool)
Sonic the Hedgehog

I know that the list can go on further. I grew up with these kinds of things. I didn't like the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego show, because I was a stupid kid that didn't like realistic things. Lots of these shows probably have a great deal to do with this stuff.

Lots of this furry stuff disgusts me to no end... I'd blame lots of things on parents not taking their rightful role in dicipline, but that's just a general thing that can lead to lots more problems...
Hey, I'm a centauric-alligato-with-butterfly-wings-and-a-scorpion-tail-cyborg, the son of an 1/2 angel 1/2 demon and a 1/2 vampire 1/2 werewolf crossbreed, and I take offense to this post!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I was a cold blooded wondering schitzophrenic demented one, who has multiple personalities, and who wanders the land balancing on the thin line that divides good and evil.

Well, they are within the bounds of roleplay. To take on a roleplaying character is to take on the persona of another person of your own making. I can see how annoying looking at a vampire weregoose knight wizard can be, and the fact that the demon/half-demon characters are also far too prevalent, but it is perfectly within their bounds to play the part and at least pretend to believe they are what they roleplay as.

I usually find that in Roleplays, the same people who makes these kind of characters are the same ones who like to "God-Mod". Ie:

"Xdressvampitee rushes towards Normalcharacter, slicing his head from his body and laughing as it plops on the ground."

Only typically with much worse grammatical structure.
Were they usually just having a "joke" RP or were they being serious?
Lighten up. They're just using their imaginations to roleplay. It's not like Gaia is real life anyways. It's a damn internet forum that PROMOTES roleplay.

If you don't like it, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Oh. I'm sorry if I have offended you, oh Mighty Xdressvampitee. It will never happen again.

I have an urge to go photomanipulate and make an xdressvampitee now.

That is the greatest title ever and I agree full heartedly with you.

As a sign of gratitude, I demand your sash.

sad

Man, I really want one of those. And thanks. I like my titles. ^_^

I was happy with elves and fairies and dwarves and the like when I was a kid.

However I used to write stories about a shapeshifting animal the size of a cat, that usually had a cats head and a centipede's body. ^_^;;

I was much younger then.

You are wrong in one scenario though.

I really am an Asexual cross dressing vampiric weremanatee.

No. You are the weakest link, goodbye.

Contributing. Good job. Too bad the correct answer was A: Your post was useless.

I decided to take a stroll through some of the other forums of Gaia. You'd be amazed at how hard it is not to break into uncontrollable fits of laughter.

Furries were bad enough. (Yes, I knew about all these sub-classes before. I'm just now finding it amusing.) But now there's like, vampire furry hermaphrodites who are gay. (Boggles me, as well.)

I remember when I was a kid. I pretended to be a knight. Not a fox knight, not a vampire knight (*Gasp@Forever Knight*). Just... A knight.

When did smaller fantasy get so boring that things had to expand into the completely ridiculous?

No, you aren't a fox. You aren't a vampire. You're not a spotted monkapotamus. You're human. If you're reading this, and/or replying, chances are, more than likely, you, my friend, are human.

Vampires, eeh... I know, there's the sub-culture underground kind of blood-sucking thing. But I'm talking the fantasy/mythical origin.

So basically, the discussion I'm trying to get started, the question to ask is: Are our imaginations so shot as a society that people flee to these fantasies?

Or is it the tails? And the fur? And the.. muzzle. *twitches*
