I joined Gaia July of 2006 and I LOVED the old layout. When they announced this new layout, I was like 'Why?' And then they revealed the Cash Shop or whatever the hell it's called. Who would spend real money on fake items? And we only started out with a VERY low amount of cash. And now all Gaia people (and the staff) care about are items. I want my avi to look good but I'd rather RP. The RPs used to be SO good but now they're all crap because only new people are posting and the RPs are SO illiterate now. And I hate how all their items cost over 10k. I can't make that much without help, and no one ever even helps. (well, they don't help me, anyway = P) Like the evolving items, they cost so frickin much and the only other way we can get them are by actually paying. The most I've ever made is 40k, and that's because someone gave my sister two monthly items, and sold them and gave me the gold. That's the only way I can get a lot of money and even when I had 40k, I couldn't buy anything because it's all over 50k. And some items are 500k-1 million, which is just ridiculous. ONE MILLION!?

i think that everyone who has signed should boycott the cash shop and MCs for a month. and get everyone they know to do the same. and eventually gaia might notice that we have stopped.

I will be obtaining MC from a friend, he owes me alot of gold...but i am not purchasing anything from now on. i think you should do the same.

I remember signing up for gaia in '04. I absolutely loved it, and I couldn't stop playing. Suddenly, my parents didn't approve of it, so being the good girl I was, I stayed away for a while.
Last year, I came back (even before the Cash Shop items) and I said... "WTF is this?" It wasn't the gaia I had known, and it keeps getting worse.

Okay Gaia. I've been a member since late 04...The changes this site has gone through since then are horrible. The current problems aren't getting fixed. The Cash Shop updates at least twice a week if not more. Shop items are beginning to suck. Events have become something that people only go to to get items. Even with that said, the items get worse and worse each year. As have the events. A celebration for every holiday? Why not spend more time on making the major events worthwile. The Gaia Anniversary...was there even one this year? Donation Presents have become Montly Collectibles. They get worse and worse each month. The scamming and unfair banning is out of control. Cybering runs rampant in towns and the ChatterBox. Advertising seems to be the main purpose of this site now. Quests based around movies, shows, and books. It's pathetic. Inflation has made questing painful. New users beg for gold while the old members struggle to make gold, buy wish list items, and make a profit off the market place. Gaia, you are being greedy and selfish. Get over yourselves and stop thinking about money. Thought and care need to be priorites. The population of old members is declining. A credit card has become the new currency. Newbies today are wealthier than some of the older members. I remember the peasant clothing. Now you have to pay for it. Towns is crap. The ability to enjoy the site is becoming difficult to have. Engraving was a neat thing. It's gone. Gifting was fun. It's not fixed. Cash Shop is a monstrocity. I've been hacked twice. I haven't gotten back any of the hard earned items from either. Games are becoming pointless. ToS violations are out of control and those who aren't commiting them are getting banned and hacked. Hackers get accounts banned after stealing the items. Gaia, Clean up your act. Stop being so scroog-ish. You need to restore the splendor of the site.

So true. Newbies are spoiled and selfish. Cybering instead of rping. Past "Donation Presents"-I refuse to call them MC's-Were much better and used to be much more affordable. Nobody donates to the people who are working so hard to get items they love. I'm questing my items I lost after my first account got hacked. My wishlist was half of my inventory awhile ago. The unfair bannings are out of control. Hacked accounts don't receive any of their old items. I'm fed up with Gaia. I'm only sticking aorund in the hopes they will change.

I agree whole-heartedly. Though I do enjoy some of the new items, it really bothers me how greedy gaia has become. For the past 6months i've been heavily debating just up and leaving this site, but because of my B/C shop, I just can't get myself to do it. Still, I hate the cash shop, I hate the fact that gaia hasn't really been having it's usual "holiday" events. (Or if they did, well I sure as hell didn't see them). I miss the way this site used to be when I joined. (Which was Jan 30, 2004).

In all honesty, it feels like gaia isn't listening to what the users want anymore. Unless that request is a new item. I wish they'd stop concetrating on the next big item release, and start concentrating on the glitches, bugs, and other major problems this site has.
