True. From the looks of it, it seemed that everyone was worried about swearing. Lol.

Not everyone. I was wondering how she was going to get everybody to comply with the "if you break these rules you owe me 500 gold" bit she tacked onto the end there, like she thought was some sort of mod who was capable of either forcing users to comply or going into their accounts and draining the assigned "fine".

It was very tempting to post five swears all in one post (which is the only rule I'd want to break without writing a flame-rant that might get me into REAL trouble) and see what happened. Sadly, I had to go for dinner and now she's gone. Oh well.

I understood what you wanted to do. The only issue I found was making the rules. They weren't necessary, I'm sure the people in the Writer's Forum can easily describe to you what their stories are about without swearing a whole lot.

You know we do have a filter for swearing. If you don't like it you can turn that on and then you wouldn't have to look at it. I can be very immature when it comes to people telling me a word is bad just because some prude fifty years ago said so.

I love language and all the words we have are there to serve a purpose, even swear words. When used properly, they can convey a depth of emotion or a character's personality better then if they are left out. Especially when they are left out just to appease one person's delicate sensitivities. If it is right for the mood, situation or character in general, then I'll happily use swear words.

You don't have to use them in your stories, but you have no right to forbid us from using them in ours. It's not like this is a contest with specific rules, if it was it's in the wrong place, and we aren't going to be getting anything out of it besides the writing experience. Which I can get on my own outside of this "form".

Also, this is a thread, not a forum(and definitely not a form). stare
