i prefer swords becuase of the of the accountability level..

how many poeple have goggten off by saying "Im sorry judge, the sword went off 12 times!". less amount of death.. although the actual instances are probably worse (more icky and such.. longer to die and all).

plus if yer 5 yer old finds a sword, they're less likely to kill you with it.
not to say its impossible, just less likely.

An extension of manliness?. . . I highly doubt that. Honestly, just because you have a gun doesn't make you more manly then any other guy in the world. Hell, a girl can have gun, but that doesn't exactly make her more manly? The only thing a gun grants a person [or any other weapon] is more confidence in their ability to protect themselves. Which sometimes leads them to thinking they are totally invincible, and so on and so forth. But whatever. . . your entitled to your opinion as I'm entitled to mine.

At last I find this thread again! Ok so i admit that no normal person can block a bullet with a katana. But the sword itself is able to deflect the bullets. Therefore making it possible. Very Slim But Possible to deflect a bullet with a katana. Now this was done with a glock it looks like so im not sure about other pistols. But This proves that a glock does not win nessacarally.

actualy, if a person can tell where the bullet is head and if the blade is strong enough, it can easaly be deflected right back at the person that shot it. trust me you can i've had a teacher through a marker at a wall and it flew right back to his hand, so trust me it can be done

I think its save to say that even for me a person arguing for the swords I highly doubt that is possible. You would be farly more likly to deflect around you body to the side then rather back at the person.
