Oh, and Winnie the Pooh. Can't believe I almost forgot about the bear with very little brain!
The Cat in the Hat is cool.
Children's literature is really awesome. I took a class on it and it was so fun.

I love Madeline.

Its a toss up between The Giving Tree and Where the Wild Things are for me.

both books are amazing
Mine was "Quick as a Cricket" by Audrey Wood. I always asked my mom to read it to me before I went to bed. It was the first book all three of my brothers and I ever read when we were little and we each signed the inside cover and put the date we read it. It's really sad because, when I moved in with my aunt and uncle, it got lost somehow, and I really miss that book. I wanted it to be the first book my kids ever read on their own and for them to sign it as well. cry

Harold and The Purple Crayon,
And Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?
Ha ha. My youngest nephew, he loved the second so much that whenever we read it to him,
before he could even talk, when we got to the frog page he would go
"bee bo bee bo uh oo ee!" (green frog, green frog, what do you see?)
So it kinda has to be one of my favorite kid books.
Mine are more children's books that exactly little kids' books, but I can't really remember liking any little kids' book that much - we were mostly read Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings anyway if Dad didn't make up his own stories.

The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was one of my favourites, even though I think I read it in my early teens, which could still be considered childhood.

And then there was this absolutely amazing Icelandic(I think) book we read at school. I think it was called Knight Benjamin the Dove. It was about these kids who set up their of order of knights and helped people around.

....funny, these two are the only books that have been able to make me cry. And I read a lot.
