Plus, live actions from anime don't really mix well since anime is known for their odd haired/porportioned characters. Same with cartoons, Avatar was horrible, the effects were cool tho.

Avatar had the potential to be epic and good, but when Shamalong-iding-dong was announced as the director, my faith was crushed

I'm sorry, I think you need to watch Hana Yori Dango, Hana Kimi, Honey & Clover, Nodame Cantibile, Gokusen, Absolute Boyfriend, and Liar Game. All are highly-rated Japanese dramas based off of anime/manga.

IMO, the live-action of Hana Yori Dango is much better than the anime. The anime was so poorly done that I wish they would just remake it.
