Yes, this thread is for people who either want to gain weight, need to gain weight, or both. I know of people who desire to be overweight for some reason, so please, don't try to insult people here. I don't want or need to gain, but I'm positive that others do, so here is a place for people to post the recipies they know that will help you put on weight. Be nice in here, alright?

Sooo, by "gaining" you mean gaining fat for the purpose of being overfat instead of putting on weight to be at a higher more healthy weight? Or the traditional weight gain by people looking to increase their lean muscle mass and decrease their body fat?

That doesn't make make much sense to want to just add fat and probably contribute to being unhealthy. Sounds more like a unclean eating (treats are OKAY, people!) and purposely not being active.

People shouldn't be obsessed with being too thin for their body but they shouldn't about being overfat either. Both are unhealthy and may require professional help.

Putting on lean muscle is a matter of clean high (comparatively) calorie eating with the proper amounts of protein and complex carbs plus lifting with a smaller amount of cardio than a fat-loss ("cutting" for already fit lifters) program. Increasing muscle mass can make you look overweight on the scale and even with BMI scores but overweight and overfat are completely different things! If I ever went into a bulking phase I would totally do it under a trainer and nutritionist since I've never done it before (still eating for fat loss, while I still go hard with lifting I'm not eating for large gains. Pretty much you can only design your program to do one or the other except maybe at the very start (about a year) of a fitness program when you start off overfat and inactive.)

Weight gain powders usually just have a high amount of sugar, adding calories but having crap nutrition for your body.

bodyfat, baby! scale weight and BMI can be way off. Although the only truely accurate bodyfat test is water submersion but there are other methods.

If you're under 18 I have no idea about anything fitness/body weight/fat issues. sweatdrop unadults are very different.

There are actually healthy ways to be overweight. It all depends on what you eat. If you just eat junk food, it's gonna be unhealthy, but some people just eat a lot of healthier foods to be overweight. Some people just like being big. Thank you for not flaming anyone's beliefs, though.

im not being rude or anything, but i just dont see y someone would purposely want to be oveweight or bigger than normal, it brings problems like not being able to get around as efficiently, gettin teased, or just having trouble getting eercise, or other things good for you

If you eat clean and remain active being "overweight" isn't the same thing as leading sedentary life eating nothing but junk while spending all day on the couch (or computer). Being curvy or naturally having a bit of a belly, hips, or thighs isn't the same as being overfat. Women that have women bellies and curves shouldn't be ashamed. Plus-sized models aren't fat, they're just plus-sized. Active men with love handles or some belly chub don't have to be unhealthy. Having a little cushioning isn't a horrible thing and often doesn't put you at a health risk as you're often just at the top of a healthy weight chart for your height and body fat/lean muscle ratio.

Power Lifters often carry extra fat because of the high amount of calories they need (and often cut before a competition). But those that eat clean carry less fat than their less healthy brethren.

I just know it as it's a common word in adopted by the English language, like "faux pas" or "foyer" or "anime" (although we use anime to mean Japanese cartoons instead of just animation from any country like the Japanese do).

That's kinda what I was getting at. They're active, but they like to be round. I agree that being overfat and lazy is very unhealthy, but the people I know that like their extra cushioning aren't those people. That also makes me feel a bit better about myself, since I have a small paunch myself (which, no matter how hard I try, won't go away), but I'm not overweight. A lot of my weight's probably from my legs, though. I love to walk around a lot.

Some people find fat sexually attractive for some reason, while others just like it. As for the problems, some people adjust to being overweight easily and aren't easily hurt by teasing. Excercise isn't always a problem. I know an overweight person who plays DDR whenever he gets the chance.
