Welcome to Gaia! ::

Could it be true that people only say that they are vamps for approval or attention or are you truly a person that has to have other humans blood for health. You don't have to get back and no offense. If you do get back this topic not the best way to reach me.

I'm sorry, but no.

Drastically redefining "vampire" does not make one a vampire.

"Psychic vampires" is slang, more than anything else. Just an amusing term. Like "leech" or whatever.

Having a blood fetish doesn't make you a vampire. It means you have a blood fetish.

Vampires are the reanimated dead. Like zombies, only hot and with class. This has been so for decades. You can't suddenly decide "omg, I feed off other people's energies! instead of this making me a total a*****e, I've decided that it makes me a vampire! And because I've decided that I'm a vampire, that automatically makes me cool, because everyone loves vampires!"

No.

I mean, jezuz. Liking blood, being pale... none of this crap makes you a vampire, and it never has done.

Look at me. I'm a witch, a Pagan and a goth. I hate summer, I dislike bright sunlight, I stay in the shade whenever possible. I burn easily, I like blood, and I like my steak rare. I prefer night to day and am often more active after the sun sets.

I am NOT a vampire. I am a human.

Ways to tell that you are not actually a vampire:

a) Are you breathing? Do you have a pulse? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
b) Are you below 20? No vampire would ever turn you into a vampire, because you are a teenager. Vampires have class. Duh.
c) Are you still ageing? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
d) Are you in school? (I mock you.) Then you are a teenager, and ageing. Refer to points B and C.

(PLEASE NOTE: Drastically redefining the word "vampire" DOES NOT make you a vampire. It makes you a damn wanker, and anyone who values language will beat you to death with a dictionary.)

e) Can you be beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are ALIVE (but not for long) and therefore not a vampire.
f) Have you just been beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are DEAD, but as you have not been killed by exsanguination via a vampire sucking out your vital fluids, you are not a vampire. EPIC FAILZ.

Interesting facts!

Rabies doesn't make you a vampire.
Being aenemic (and craving things like bloody steak that have lots of iron) does not make you a vampire.
Placebo or psychological effects caused by thinking you are a vampire and going through withdrawal does not make you a vampire.

I like vampires. For this reason, I really dislike it when the term is misused. Such as in this case.

Thank you and goodnight.

Dont be stupid.

im pretty sure all of us who are vampyres get enough attention in our daily lives. we have kids, husbands, soon to be husbands that show us enough. lol
(for the male vampyres in this thread- im sry i couldnt say much, im not male XD)
some of us need blood, and other energy.
Right, apologies for getting off topic...

As for the main point: I don't really disapprove of vampirism, but then again it really depends on the reasoning behind it.

I would only drink blood for survival purposes, such as a depression or me being stuck on an island.

For those of you thinking I am contradicting myself, Note that I wasn't actually argueing about vampirism being right or wrong--the bible infact, says nothing about vampirism. This means I have no reason to look down on it.

I just remembered a professional doctor that my dad is a friend with, so maybe I can ask him more about medical vampirism?

So I will refine my point: SOME cases of vampiristic thoughts(like the kind I'm trying to shake off, as it only started happening when I started reading this topic =P) are mental. It does seem logical that there are several nutrient sources that drinking blood can easily solve.

Now I have a question: Do you actually ENJOY your feedings?

ps. still doubting psyvamps, however... =

If psi vampirism is all in one's mind then there really is no explanation for how psi vamps like Michelle Belanger can apparently cause EMF anomalies to register on a detector or why Kirlian photography, controversial as it is, shows a very different aura around a psi vampire than it does around a "normal" human being.

Bottom line: Don't claim something as fact when it's just conjecture based on incomplete knowledge of how the universe works. Absence of proof is not proof of absence.

How different do you think a psys aura photo would be from a sangs?

I suspect they'd probably look about the same, given that both were at about the same energy level.

I doubt the vampire virus theory because if there was a vampire virus it would be pretty easy to conclusively prove vampirism. No one that believes in a vampire virus wants to step up and be tested, and the one instance I've seen documented of a self-proclaimed vampire having her blood tested showed up as perfectly normal. I don't believe in a government conspiracy to conceal things like this either.

And to address the question of whether or not I enjoyed my feedings or not, yes, I did. I tended to like psi better than sang most times though, as I found it to be easier to do and it can be done from a distance.

Dunno, whatever feelings you get when you are feeding. I still don't entirely understand it, so I'm asking(If I lacked nutrients found in blood, I would likely change my diet. =P <--hemophobic) Do you enjoy them?

its not the feeding itself that really gives me a feeling
i guess for me its the loving closeness i get because i feed from my hubby.
before him, it was relaxing
that girl who i posed some quotes above blocked me

Hmm... interesting. I have a friend who says that he's a vampire!

I've been watching/reading Vampire Knight and instead of what's written in the first post, it states that there are five different types of vampires: Level A (pure-bloods), Level B (nobles), Level C (normal ones), Level D (those who were once human), and Level E (Level D's who went insane). I think it's pretty interesting, the way that people think of vampires in many different ways: some think of them traditionally (by that I mean picturing Dracula vs. vampire bats), others think of them like in the first post, etc.
