Hey everyone!

Did anyone watch Monster Quest on the History Channel tonight? It was on vampires. They did some testing on modern day vampires, including Michelle Belanger.

No, I didn't see it. Was it any good?

A little better than I expected. The broke out the FLIR and various EM detectors during a psi feed. Got some interesting results.

The woman claiming to be a sang that they took blood from came back as normal. Go figure.

Then they just researched and investigated the old New England vampirism cases and found they were related to Tuberculosis outbreaks. Didn't explain why only a few victims were disinterred and treated as vampires though.

what exactly were they looking for in her blood? did they say what kind of test they were putting it through? and has that test been used before with vampires saying they were sang and something unusually comming up in the test? sorry full of questions, if you have a link to the show or anything that would be great.

They did tests on every physical aspect of her blood. Looked for blood disorders, checked her various cell counts, cell size, chemical composition, etc. They pretty much stopped short of full on genetic analysis. To my knowledge no blood tests have been used on those claiming to be vampires because they are either afraid to do so or don't think anything will show up.

I don't have a link, but while the show was on they said you could watch full episodes of Monster Quest on the History Channel website. You might check it in a day or so and see if you can find the episode on vampires.

thanks. yea i went to the site, it doesn't look like the have the vampire one up just yet. i'll look again later.

as for the blood test, i've occasionaly had anomilies show up in my blood test, but then they retested and didn't see anything. so, i really am not sure if it is vampire related or not. to tell the truth, i honestly don't think much will show up for a humanoid vampire in regards to a blood test. i think a full on genetic analysis would have to be done to see anything.

Drastically redefining "vampire" does not make one a vampire.

"Psychic vampires" is slang, more than anything else. Just an amusing term. Like "leech" or whatever.

Having a blood fetish doesn't make you a vampire. It means you have a blood fetish.

Vampires are the reanimated dead. Like zombies, only hot and with class. This has been so for decades. You can't suddenly decide "omg, I feed off other people's energies! instead of this making me a total a*****e, I've decided that it makes me a vampire! And because I've decided that I'm a vampire, that automatically makes me cool, because everyone loves vampires!"

I mean, jezuz. Liking blood, being pale... none of this crap makes you a vampire, and it never has done.

Look at me. I'm a witch, a Pagan and a goth. I hate summer, I dislike bright sunlight, I stay in the shade whenever possible. I burn easily, I like blood, and I like my steak rare. I prefer night to day and am often more active after the sun sets.

I am NOT a vampire. I am a human.

Ways to tell that you are not actually a vampire:

a) Are you breathing? Do you have a pulse? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
b) Are you below 20? No vampire would ever turn you into a vampire, because you are a teenager. Vampires have class. Duh.
c) Are you still ageing? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
d) Are you in school? (I mock you.) Then you are a teenager, and ageing. Refer to points B and C.

(PLEASE NOTE: Drastically redefining the word "vampire" DOES NOT make you a vampire. It makes you a damn wanker, and anyone who values language will beat you to death with a dictionary.)

e) Can you be beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are ALIVE (but not for long) and therefore not a vampire.
f) Have you just been beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are DEAD, but as you have not been killed by exsanguination via a vampire sucking out your vital fluids, you are not a vampire. EPIC FAILZ.

Interesting facts!

Rabies doesn't make you a vampire.
Being aenemic (and craving things like bloody steak that have lots of iron) does not make you a vampire.
Placebo or psychological effects caused by thinking you are a vampire and going through withdrawal does not make you a vampire.

I like vampires. For this reason, I really dislike it when the term is misused. Such as in this case.

Why does everyone act as if all vampires are stupid idiots stuck in a fantasy world? How is it so fantasy like?

Whether anyone likes it or not, some people DO drink other people's blood. Whether or not it actually gives them energy or if it's just placebo effect doesn't matter. They ARE drinking blood. They call themselves vampires because of this.

How is it so hard to believe that people drink blood? If you can't comprehend how someone drinks blood, then you will probably create a black hole just by trying to breathe, you're so stupid.

I just mentioned drinking blood and not psychic vampires, as the people who regard you vampires as crazy only know about the ones that drink blood.

I wish people would stop using 'blood fetish' as a write-off. A fetish is something that causes sexual arousal or gratification in a person. Some vampires don't even ENJOY drinking blood, let alone get off on it, so this argument is invalid.

I personally believe in Vampires because I was once friends with a Sang Vampire. ^^
And i also talked to some of his Psi and Sang Vampire friends as well but yeah, i believe that there's people out there who have a craving for human blood and that call themselves Vampires.

I'm a BIT sceptical about Psi-Vampires myself but i'm not saying they're NOT real. I'm always open to things that can't really be explained.
AND i don't really believe in ageless Vampires as well (although my Vampire friend said he had a 'old soul' but his body wasn't immortal. I didn't get to discuss that very much with him, sadly but i think in a way he was saying his soul was a soul of a old Vampire but yeah XD) and the types that are in movies, books etc.

But i do believe in Vampires, most definitely.

But yeah... i just wanna give all of the Sang and Psi Vampires my support! *gives you all lots of support*
