Welcome to Gaia! ::

Oh, by the way, I recently met (online) an Otherkin who claims to be a ghoul - feeding on the energy of the dead. Just thought, as I mentioned ghouls earlier, this might be of interest smile and they'd certainly be energy "vampire"-like

For the third time.

Well you can't expect people to believe you if you have no proof besides "IT'S OKAY GAIZ, PPL ON TEH INTERWEBZ TTLY TOLD ME THEY WERE!"

Seriously, if you had actual proof, I'd believe you.

I don't really care whether or not people believe us. This thread is here because vampirism is as much a part of the lifestyles of the people involved as, say, BDSM is for the people who choose to live that way. It's not really about gaining acceptance, although that would be nice.

And I'm sorry, even if I had proof, it would be impossible to show it over the internet. The only possible way I could prove it to you would be, in the case of psychic vampirism, encourage you to look into energy and energetic experiments and draw your own conclusions.

Why do you need people to acknowledge your "lifestyle?" As bad as it sounds, you're all trying to be a bunch of romanticized leeches. Yes. Leeches. With powers.

You're basically asking people to acknowledge that they exist, whether you know it or not. We can't accept, nay, ACKNOWLEDGE something so ridiculous as "believe us because I think they exist."

No proof. Not very valid.
It's time to admit what you really are. People with imaginations gone wild.

by your definition, anyone who believes in God have overactive imaginations.

Wow. My post was completely blown over...and it's not even a hate-filled bashing post either.
I said I was pretty much willing to give the Sanguinarian Vampires the benefit of the doubt as far as being real...but I'm not sure about the psy ones. (I had to copy and paste that term, I'm a terrible speller.)
Again I'm willing to listen...I think someone made a comment in the previous thread that religion didn't determine whether you are or not one...and I said I was more than likely a therian if anything.
I can't keep up with you guys...can you please slow down so I can get the gist of this...I'm not one of the bad guys y'know. I'm a skeptic...(odd sounding from a Christian I know) but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and listen and maybe you could answer any questions I think of to bring up.
I'd also like to point out...it doesn't sound to me like it's a religion at all (vampirism)...more like a lifestyle...(which is why I think it belongs here and not the chatterbox.) however...odd...we may think it is.
Though...the fact that I'm willing to accept this over homosexuality is astounding...nevertheless I've always found vampires and weres (not just werewolves...) fascinating.

we're not trying to ignore you- but these topics grow so fast. if you have questions it might be better to pm either me, Vox, Zombie, or Kayako on them so they'll get answered.

E is not awesome. it's very bad for you.

I find Otherkin interesting personally, I do have a number of online friends who call themselve dragon otherkin, I suppose I feel a kinship towards them because the pagan path I walk deals with dragons. I don't know what to make of the otherkin community personally, but I don't see why it isn't possible. I call myself a sanguine and I believe in reincarnation so I won't dismiss the posibility that when a soul reincarnates it can reincarnate in a different form. Those are my personal beliefs and may or may not be shared by others.

I class the Otherkin community as simply having a belief, a fairly meaningless one as it can neither be proven nor disproven. That is, aside from the people who claim to have different DNA to normal people...but I don't think there are that many of them.

I thought vampires were classed as Otherkin? At least, the websites I've visited seem to think so. What are your - or the other people here's - views on this?

I hope I have a boy more, because I found an old friend who awakened me who agreed to awaken the child when he/she is born.

This way, it might be easier for the child, and on me.

You're pregnant? How do you know that the child will or won't be a vampire? He/She might take after the father. :p

Yes. 15 weeks.
How do I know? I was an awakened sanguivore, so I don't have the right blood to produce a vampyre child. Also, the father is a human, so it is also less likely.
The child will most likely take some traits, and hit certain problems during teen years.
I also still feed, so even if the child takes after the father, problems still will occur within the growing child.

Y'know...drinking someone's blood while pregnant is bad for the fetus...
Too much iron. It'll kill the fetus.

It hasn't killed it at 15 weeks yet.
I think drinking blood for 6 years will help the baby with it.

Fact of the matter, those are just fictional.
Everything that lives dies, doesn't it?

I'm sorry, but no.

Drastically redefining "vampire" does not make one a vampire.

"Psychic vampires" is slang, more than anything else. Just an amusing term. Like "leech" or whatever.

Having a blood fetish doesn't make you a vampire. It means you have a blood fetish.

Vampires are the reanimated dead. Like zombies, only hot and with class. This has been so for decades. You can't suddenly decide "omg, I feed off other people's energies! instead of this making me a total a*****e, I've decided that it makes me a vampire! And because I've decided that I'm a vampire, that automatically makes me cool, because everyone loves vampires!"

No.

I mean, jezuz. Liking blood, being pale... none of this crap makes you a vampire, and it never has done.

Look at me. I'm a witch, a Pagan and a goth. I hate summer, I dislike bright sunlight, I stay in the shade whenever possible. I burn easily, I like blood, and I like my steak rare. I prefer night to day and am often more active after the sun sets.

I am NOT a vampire. I am a human.

Ways to tell that you are not actually a vampire:

a) Are you breathing? Do you have a pulse? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
b) Are you below 20? No vampire would ever turn you into a vampire, because you are a teenager. Vampires have class. Duh.
c) Are you still ageing? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
d) Are you in school? (I mock you.) Then you are a teenager, and ageing. Refer to points B and C.

(PLEASE NOTE: Drastically redefining the word "vampire" DOES NOT make you a vampire. It makes you a damn wanker, and anyone who values language will beat you to death with a dictionary.)

e) Can you be beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are ALIVE (but not for long) and therefore not a vampire.
f) Have you just been beaten to death with a dictionary? If so, you are DEAD, but as you have not been killed by exsanguination via a vampire sucking out your vital fluids, you are not a vampire. EPIC FAILZ.

Interesting facts!

Rabies doesn't make you a vampire.
Being aenemic (and craving things like bloody steak that have lots of iron) does not make you a vampire.
Placebo or psychological effects caused by thinking you are a vampire and going through withdrawal does not make you a vampire.

I like vampires. For this reason, I really dislike it when the term is misused. Such as in this case.

Thank you and goodnight.

Vampyres are not reanimated dead. Fiction, right there.
Liking blood and being pale doesn't make you a vampyre, yes.
But remember, vampyres can be black, mexican, etc too.
Seems like you never thought about that.
Sweetie, it looks like you read TOO many books.

Ways to tell that you are not actually a vampire:

a) Are you breathing? Do you have a pulse? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
vampyres are living. fictional vampyres are undead.
b) Are you below 20? No vampire would ever turn you into a vampire, because you are a teenager. Vampires have class. Duh.
im 18, and i wasnt turned, i was awakened. turning is basically impossible.
c) Are you still ageing? Then you are ALIVE and thus not a vampire.
vampyres age. its the more pure blood ones that age slower then humans.
again- vampyres are living.

d) Are you in school? (I mock you.) Then you are a teenager, and ageing. Refer to points B and C.
No. I graduated a year early, and have been out of school for a bit.

The "e" and "f" you give us is your pathetic attempt.

As I said, you read TOO many books.

I'm not aenimic, nor do I prefer my steak cooked rare. I'm not a witch, or dislike summer. My religion is from a native american base.

You're far from intelligent for us.
