if anyone asked me about myself andthey already knew i was a vampire or they just wouldnt care i would go int othings like my hobbies and personality before i use vamprism as part of my identity, yes it's part of us but we still breath and stuff everyone is diffent in some way, even identical twins can act diffrently and have diffrent things they identuify themselves a twin will describe themselves before they think of what they realy are down to everytihng you know what i'm saying, and yes this is a very refreshing topic ^-^

Exactly, it's just a part of who we are, but it doesn't make up the whole of us. Why should it?

exactly, but that dosent mean we dont need help either, oh yay i realy am enjoying myself right now ^-^

I'm sure there are some people who do cling to it as an identity, but those people also seem to be not completely genuine when it comes to their vampirism, and that's just the sad part of it all.

If you're interested, you can read a copy of it here

Also, here's an interesting interview with the author, part one of two.

it's almost that the more that someone wants to be something and if they have a little there , the more they tend to dhow it off. like for instance people who are 1/30th native american try to make a big deal about it, but people who are like 1/2 native american just see it as there, they see themselves as humans first.

I find this to be pretty annoying. I know too many white people that are obviously mostly white, yet when they're asked their ethnicity, they mostly point out Native American.

I think I might be a vampire but I am really not sure how to tell.

let me explain: all my life, whenever I've bled, my eyes light up. not literally, but like ... when a cat sees a toy their pupils get HUGE and they start having mini freakouts. i had a bloody lip and i really liked the taste. it didn't gross me out even a little. lately i've been feeling pukey and achy and it's been for like the last month or two ... and i got into a fight ... weird how coincedental that is, and of course i got punched in the nose and i am bleeding freely and not wanting to get blood all over the place ... i noticed that for the first time in forever i feel okay.

a few weeks later and im feeling like crap again. i think the whole vampire thing is weird but i cant explain any other way why i feel so crappy all the time, or why the one time i swallowed some blood i felt relieved. not satisfied ... and it sounds so creepy, i know, but refreshed.

like how does a vampire know they are a vampire? ive always thought that it could be something in the blood and not the blood itself that these people were lacking in their diets, hence their sickness and relief when they had blood but now im not sure.

help if you can please

If it's your own blood that is making you feel better, you're not a vampire.

if anyone is interested in vampires or vampyres, read "Vampires:The Occult Truth" by Konstantinos
I've read it, and don't recommend it.

I've read the book too, one of the worst occult texts on vampirism I've ever read.

I agree. What he says about vampires is misinformed...

lol. I have to giggle a little here. Most of you have seen my pictures, those that haven't they are in my profile. You can see that I'm incredibly white, however my heritage has enough dark skin in it, that I'm technically not caucasian, not fully anyway. And that is not just because of the Native American heritage I have.

Here's where two things can split off from the people that like to "show off" their heritage. One, the like to show it off because they get something out of it. Be it money or schooling or whatever. Or, two, they are extremely proud of who they are. You can call it ego if you like, but being proud isn't really that bad of a thing. I'm extremely proud of my own heritage, the caucasian and not. People will see me say I'm 3 parts Celtic (lol) right beside giving the amount of Native American I am. It's just something that makes me happy. I like knowing what I am, because so many people don't know what or even who they are. It's pride in knowing.

I want to have it to just have it. Hell, I might have it and not remember, I've picked up a lot of books on the Occult, Paganisim, Witchcraft, Magic, and Vampires in the last 13 years.
I'm afraid you're all misinformed about what 'vampires' really are. You people are not Vampires, you're something completely different. I'm mystified as to why you call yourselves vampires, that can only attract negative attention.

A vampire is a more mythical creature, a ghoul of sorts, a pure evil reanimated corpse come back to drain the life force of the living. They're ugly as hell, they look more like a zombie than a person.

Now what you people are, is something completely different. I highly suggest taking another name, because you're not really 'Vampires'.
I don't know what I'd call myself if I were one of you, but I'd stay far from that term. It only applies to you slightly, and it really isn't worth the negative attention you seem to draw.

I'm not saying that what you are isn't real, I'm only saying that it's a bad idea to call yourselves vampires.

Obscurus
Hey guys, I don't feel like slamming my head into the desk tonight!

I am kind of wondering though how many vampires consider vampirism to be something that they cannot get rid of. I already know there are a lot of people that wouldn't get rid of it if they could, but how many actually think it's possible? Be honest. How many people cling to their vampirism for the identity it gives rather then because they can't get rid of it?

I think I may have commented on this back in your guild when you posted in there about it. I can't remember. If I could rid myself of my condition I would without a doubt, my only concern would be would I be able to cope with the fact that a part of myself i've been getting used to for the past 12-ish years is no longer there. Would it be too much of a shock to my system? I suppose I would never know, but if I could ris myself of the condition without ill affect, I wholeheartedly would.
