Why thank you, that is generous.

For the most part, I view vampirism (when combined with its associations) as a window, a way to understand our need for feeding, the process of drawing energy, and our relationship with the world (for me, the divine.)
Just as in other cultures, there are other ways of describing it.
Although that doesn't make vampirism any less "special", or any less real. I believe that the way we connect with the need to draw energy aligns us with certain universal energies, or aspects of the psyche. Which can be beneficial.
Also, it creates a community, which is nice.
Although that's just how I see it.
But I'm probably not making much sense now, and I'll stop rambling :p

Wow thats an amazingly broad and spiritual way to think about it. o.o' Heh it kind of makes sense to me, though I'm not a vampire. >.> Ramble all you want. razz

Hi! I'm fine, just slighlty distracted by the tv now. sweatdrop How are you doing?
Drinking blood is very hazardous unless stored properly. And if it was, it'd benefot humanity a whole lot more if given to a blood bank.

I got nothing about your lifestyle choices or beliefs, but they seem like a substantial waste of useful resources to me.

On the other hand, vampirism as a classical ideology is very interesting. The imagery that goes with it is very sensual and, eh, immortal. It'd make for a good bedroom roleplay or party theme. Theres also something with the mith that intrigues me... How dd it survive so long when many myths don't stand the test of time?

For the first part of your post. Many have donors.
So, there is no need to store it.

I think they tend to use warm fresh blood from willing donors they find. You might change your mind if you found yourself lifeless and fainting all the time unless you drank a harmless amount of blood... razz

Most myths are very interesting, whether modern or ancient. Most mythology just dies out from social shifts, but since there are a lot of sources and the media loved it that particular myth stayed strong. It might be as obscure as the Sidhe if all the vampire movies and books hadnt latched onto the ideas.

yea what she said... plus with many myths that dont withstand the ravages of time it is usually caused by the culture supporting the myths being wiped off the planet, scattered too thin, or forcibly assimilated into other cultures. disease, famine, war, a need to expand, all of these can cause such a thing to happen.

Unless your donor is a gay man, or someone who has had sex with a male who has had sex with another male. Then they can't donate blood anyways, so they might as well give it to us.

Hey guys, I don't feel like slamming my head into the desk tonight!

I am kind of wondering though how many vampires consider vampirism to be something that they cannot get rid of. I already know there are a lot of people that wouldn't get rid of it if they could, but how many actually think it's possible? Be honest. How many people cling to their vampirism for the identity it gives rather then because they can't get rid of it?

well alot of things in life are genetic for intance if you are lactose intolerant by genetics (oh yes lucky me) you can cover up the symptoms be takeing medicine, or like desises that require suppliments or even takeing more of certian minerals or fats, it can be maintained but not cured because you cannot truly change yourself compleatly by genentics (plastic surgury dosent count), i know doctors have gene therpy that is being used for certian people, but that might end up being the cure for this kind of thing. i have to live with being mee unti li die you know?
