Welcome to Gaia! ::

God damn Twilight and True Blood >_>;;

**no offense to any of you, I'm just quite iritated with 13 year olds calling themeselves vampires because they're going through an emo phase. I'm NOT saying that any of you are. I'm saying everyone in my school thinks like that and its pissing me off. But I was wondering because I'm curious what do you guys consider to be vampire? o: and how can you um...distinguish if you are in fact...a vampire?

@Jess: Well, he's well aware that I sap energy from him, he doesn't seem to mind most of the time though, he knows how energetic he is, he usually gets that energy back in a day or two, so he should be fine with it. Besides, I kinda need it ._.

That doesn't make it ok. Especially since it takes him a day or two to get it back. If you have not expressly asked him or he has told you it's ok, then don't assume it is. I don't care how much you need it. There are a crap ton of us out here who ambient feed off of several people so no one feels drained.

Or feed on people with tons more energy than the average person. Or even too much, that they don't feel anything at all, and probably need to be relieved of that energy from time to time.
I find this topic very enlightening. No, I don't believe I'm a vampire of any kind, but it's interesting to see people actually intelligent on the topic of vampires. A lot of hate has risen up ever since Twilight, though that's not to say it wasn't non-existent before.

Though I'm still skeptical to an extent about some things.

Just a question I'd like to ask:

Why don't vampires drink their own blood? I kind of understand that it would be kind of pointless, though if there was a point where the developed a serious craving, wouldn't that just be the next best thing?

Sorry if this has already been answered, I haven't read but about the first 3 pages.

Also, I don't really understand the concept of psivapmires(Or whatever they're called). How exactly does one feed on energy?
Good afternoon, all. ^_^

My Vampire and I broke up last night. We'll be staying good friends, though (we've always been really close). Do you think it would still be okay for me to still be his Donor? I mean, we're still friends, and he doesn't think it will be a problem, but I just want a second opinion.

I'm curious about those psivamps, as you referred to them as. How precisely do they feed? I got the whole energy bit, but that's a really fascinating subject.

Well, I'm not a psivamp but I've fed energetically, so I can kind of describe it.

Once you can feel your own energy and the energy of others, it gets easier to understand. You start by focusing in on your target person/area with your mind, or by physically touching it. The process once initiated is usually semi-automatic in most psivamps or even energetic otherkin like myself. You're sort of using your mind and your energy as a magnet to draw other energy to you. It's hard to explain, it feels kind of like opening yourself up and just PULLING it in with your willpower. Lots of novices use deep breathing as a way of focusing on it. When you breath in, you 'pull' with your mind and draw energy in with it. Breathe out, repeat. If it works, you might notice yourself feeling oddly full, hyper, better if something's been troubling you, even sleepy or drunk. The person or people being fed on might feel refreshed, tired, or also drunk. It varies, but there's a definite pattern to the effects of exchange.

Here you are, Daora. Lucky I was able to find it because I was not typing it all out again.

I'll let someone else answer the blood thing.

Ah, I see...Not sure if I completely understand, but thank you for the answer.

You can't get what you don't have, or in this case, don't have enough of. It may momentarily get the craving down but it would return with more force after. You're basically shooting yourself in the foot so to speak.

It depends. I know some who handle their vampire/donor relationship very well and can set aside personal issues from it. That being said I know some who have said relationship because of their personal feelings regarding each other. If you think you can handle it, and want to continue, then do. If you do not think you can handle it or want to stop, then stop.

I said he is aware, and he doesn't really care, so it's fine. And well I Suppose I still need a bit of practice since at those times I think I probably take a bit too much, so I gotta practice to see what's perfect for me. Kinda hard to control sometimes.
So basically I have his ok since he said to me himself he doesn't care.

Well, since Rena's answered your first question already, let me explain a little clearer your other one.
We don't drink our own blood because well, that's like recycling. We feed on the energy from blood, so drinking our own blood would be like taking our own energy, so basically we're just taking energy from ourselves and giving it back. So overall, it's useless.

My thoughts exactly. If they aren't going to read the first post, as most of them have already shown, they aren't going to read any FAQ either.
If they don't read it, when they ask the stupid question we cut their eyes out..

It's only fair, they clearly aren't using them.
