You are thus stating to choose that you are of "vampiric" qualities and somehow feed off of energies or blood thus, this makes you a vampire?

There is no choice, we are born this way as far as we can tell. We don't choose to need the blood/energy, we simply need it. It is not a want, there is no preference. We either do it or we become ill/weak/otherwise unhealthy.

This has been explained before, many times.

No, you do not get sick from not having blood or energy. That is completely in your head because you believe if you don't get it that you will get sick.
When you were 1 or 2 or even 4 , your parents did not feed you blood.
Why? Because you're not a vampire.
Go to a doctor or a thereapist, they will tell you otherwise. They are not there to be disrespected and told wrong and stupid. They went to school for a reason.

Until science proves any of this s**t, I approve to disbelieve that any other this is real.

so then, when someone doesnt believe they need blood, yet when they try to go without it, it's still in there head that they need it when they dont think they do?
some people who are born with it, their parents do feed them blood.
most awakened sanguivores only do it after they are awakened.
if my son awakens early, and he asks/decides for a bit, i will find him a way to get it.
science takes a while to prove things. there is proof in that. science cannot just poof you evidence. it takes a while of study, and experiments to actually find out things.
believing or not, the fact you dont makes it more real.
denial.
This brings up some interesting ideas concerning psychology. Just bear with me.
PTSD is still often not recognized in the U.S. military, and anorexia was not once thought of as a mental illness/disease. Now, whether or not there are biological reasons for the existence of sanguivores, there are psychological reasons to pause at the description of these symptoms. Just because it sounds fallacious doesn't mean it shouldn't be studied objectively. The problem with a lot of scientific studies on topics such as vampirism, remote viewing, or any other metaphysical/ occult-related theme is the lack of study methods and the issues usually caused by the type of control environments used in experimentation. These studies cannot be easily approached in ways typically used in experiments; therefore, faulty studies are performed and confirm only the researchers' bias.
I do love the use of the word psychevore rather than psi vamp, etc... it sounds a lot less like a word used by a thirteen-year-old as a status symbol.

Ah, but think of it this way:

While growing up, what was the best term you could think of to describe it?

Just blame lack of vocabulary.

Er. Totally not that important to the point being made, but PTSD is very much recognized by the US Military.

[Edited for added vampirism] Although, I really have to agree about the problem of researchers bias when it comes to studying vampirism. I would like to see someone like Noodle do the studies. She is not a vampire and doesn't have a vested interest in us being proven right. However, she is not a person to out right throw out the idea either.

*Raises hand slowly*

I do, but I'm not that active around here anymore. CompTIA is my now all consuming life.
I wish I was a Mental Health Specialist like I wanted to be, then I could try and convince the people at Brooks Army Medical to run all sorts of nifty tests on me.
This was really interesting to read...I've heard here and there about psychic vampires and such, not so much the other type (excluding ageless).

I was watching this paranormal TV show months ago, and it had this supposed psychic vampire (Her name was Michelle Belanger (sp?) ) where they tried to do an energy reading with an electronic device between her and her energy donor. The device actually showed a high spike of energy from the donor to her body...it was pretty strange O_o.

Being curious I have a question about the symptoms some people get as 'vampires'... if they mimic vampiric traits, would it be possible that their canine teeth sharpen unusually as well? Just a thought I've been wondering for a while.

i wouldnt consider them symptoms, but traits.
each vampyre will have different ones, and usually occur in the awakening phases, which almost heighten and relax more once controlled better (dont know if thats the best word for it)
