Welcome to Gaia! ::

Well, I might as well talk. I've got nothing better to do at the moment. So...

There is a type of vampire called a Psychic Vampire. It feeds off psychic energy, correct? Well, here is something I noticed. I'm not sure if this has any relevance to anything at all, but hey, it's something to discuss.

When I previously did research on psychic abilities, many people claimed that you need energy to practice them. They said you had energy, but you may need to "draw" energy from another source to have enough. The way people described getting this psychic energy(some people had a different name for it, though most called it Psi, because it was easier to remember)was a tiny bit different from person to person, but they all pretty much said the same thing. One would draw psychic energy needed to perform psychic abilities from another source through different visual images. Such as imagining the energy pouring from the source into your head. This would tell your subconscious what you wanted to do, and your brain would perform that action.

After doing some experiments to test these theories, I never did succeed in any psychic abilities(though I didn't practice too long either, heh heh), but one thing was for sure. Whenever I would 'draw' energy, I did feel different. And I would feel this 'energy' for a while, until I just got used to it.

Now, would that make nearly everyone of these psychics actually psi vampires?

Well, according to the first post, it would not. According to that, psychic vampires crave and need psychic energy, while psychics would just take it when they needed to do something with it.

I just thought I might bring that up, as a topic to talk about.

Majorily off topic: My new book just came in the mail! I get to read Death Note: Another Note. Yippee!

The definition isn't necesarily correct.... there's alot we still don't know about energy and we can't just listen to a few people or a single person and make that the truth. If you've come to a conclusion, try to debunk it.

Actually, most of the real vampires I know are in thier 30's or more. I'm 54.

This is true.
Probably because most of the younger ones 'fall off' the band wagon after they realize what they really are, and aren't. Grow up, have families "forget" what they thought they were.
Real vampires can't forget. It's an on going thing. It's who they are. What they are.

Not that I disagree with you, but please speak for your self....it's just a nit-pick of mine.

Hrm?
Well since I'm not 15-17... and have many older vampire friends [late 20s - 40s], and have SEEN the trend of how children act and react after a matter of time. I think I do speak for myself and experience.

Might I also add, age give's you experience, yes. But experience is only useful if you've learned something from it. Otherwise, it's probably wasted time. Nor do I think simply being an adult puts somebody over younger people in credibility.

Yes, this is true. Unfortunately, the general population is divided in percentages... A lot of young people have child mentality. But a lot of 'older' people, who are supposed to act like adults, are children in my eyes because of they're behavior...

You really can't win..

Atleast I found some people who can relate to that 'adult' mentality in my school. We all seem to stick together, the few of us that there are. Don't get me wrong, childish is welcome, sometimes. Obnoxious attitudes are not.

Truth.

Heh.. I was reported for defending otherkin and vampires in a wiccan/pagan thread here on gaia. But it wasn't "factual". I thought it was hilarious. There is no reason to have such behavior. Especially with people who are supposedly open minded.

Agreed smile But for some reason according to the masses we are all aged between 13 and 17 and read nothing by Anne Rice and Twlight books.

Anyway Welcome to the thread Lizabat.

thanks, I am real new to Gaia, and didn't know that the forums listed the most recent thread LAST! Yikes!

I'm not completely sure what to say. I'm not going to say that there aren't people who need blood for no apparent reason. But I do think that it is hard to say that these people's need wasn't created by their minds. Vampire tales are very embedded in our culture, so most people would have been exposed to it, and possibly absorbed it. Not that they would realize it. That's why some people take placebo's and it actually works like the medicine would. Because they believe it will help them, and their body does it on its own. Now, if you provide me with an example of a person that had never heard a vampire tale and genuinely needed blood I'd be more convinced. But you have to isolate your variables.

This is a tangent. Could vampirism be considered a type of cannibalism? I mean, if you found a culture (village?)of people who drank human blood as food, their withdrawal symptoms could be because it is their established diet. Like you would feel if you suddenly decided to only eat tree bark. (the rough, hard kind). Again, I'm not saying that there isn't the possibility that there might be people who need blood for nurishment.

I do not believe that "vampires" can have special powers. Neither do "ageless" vampires exist in my opinion.

Just to be clear: I kept a lighthearted tone, so I would appreciate it if you don't flame me for something I said. Because it was probably a just little joke.

I can understand that, Corrain. It's true many so-called "vampires" are not or never were real vampires. And some how made themselves believe they did.

But there are people, who will get sick if they do not feed on either energy or blood, depending on how their own body is wired. And it is a legitimate sickness. Throwing up, migraines, not being able to keep food down, weakness, etc. They've been to numerous doctors and they all say the same thing.. either "they don't know" or they hint at something being wrong but they lie and say that it "looks fine." (Even to the point of "losing" test results).. I personally would be in your same position, and have been, if it were not that I've seen my own (close friends who I trust) suffer through this very same thing. And get the same reactions from different doctors. 3 of which nearly died from not feeding (1 of the three have actually been pronounced dead 5 times in his life... granted he's an older vamp). Now, it is quite possible it may have something do to with only protein. But I've known psi vampires who have gotten sick from not feeding as well. Some even swear that feeding helped them heal (at an alarming rate, mind you) from cancer, and various of other ailments that "shocked" doctors.

Now, what you said about the possibility of linking with Cannibalism. That's actually very interesting, and it could be possible.
They've actually found a gene in some people that makes them genetically able to digest human flesh. So this could be a possible link to vampirism, as some types seem to be genetic.

Thank you for your respectful reply. biggrin

Also, I didn't mention the psi vampires. I don't have a strong opinion on that. Or any opinion at all that I can say and have any reasoning to it. But I don't quite classify that in the vampires-with-special-powers-that-i-dont-believe-really-exist category.

But, I can't say that either, really. Because, I am a Christian, and I think that if God wanted to give someone a special power, he could. But I don't see why he would.

I was once reported for standing up for myself....that was a long time ago. Meh its a funny old world we live in.

Cool beans, man... About the doctors and what they say, it can be increadibly annoying. Also irresponsible on thier part. If they are just simply ignoring the fact that something abnormal is going on with thier patient, it makes you wonder how many times they do it and in what situations they are also negligent... Kind of dangerous, even... Hey, help a sister out if you could. You said that three close friends nearly died from not feeding. How long did they go without? (If you don't want to tell, that's okay.)
PS, I always have to laugh at rpers, considering how... well, inaccurate they usually are. Even despite that, I feel kind of bad for adding to the chaos and fluff by rping sometimes. (Hey, it's kind of fun bending reality, but at least I know when to stop. 3nodding ) I think it's kind of sad that vampirism is glamourized in movies and stuff, and then people end up thinking that it's so easy they could just "give it a try." Of course, reality is never so gracious or convenient as it is on tv... emo I still wish I could fly like on the Matrix. lol (Just me being a nerd. Don't take me seriously.)
iym part phycic some times i can see the future but i see were wolves and vampires battling alot out in far reaches of the world.
That's very interesting, I had never heard of it before.
