Baker & Volley - xd I can't feel it when she's nursing most of the time. If I feel something, it's usually because she's not latched right and I take her off and get her to try again. When she was little I could tell when she was eating 'cause her mouth was smaller and I was new to it. Now...I just stopped noticing. User Image I am a bit surprised I didn't realize she was sitting in my lap though. I'm a very tired person. And the funny thing is my friend didn't notice her there either! rofl

Oh the poll topic - We started going to playdates from 3 or 4 months onward. At that point it's mainly just for the moms though...the babies don't do anything, but the adults can talk and have a good time. Now she enjoys playgroups though.

Lol you remind me of my friend spider, she has an 8 week year old son, and she forgets that she's breast feeding him..

Also I'm wondering on your opinions on breastfeeding and bottle feeding
Because I was thinking of doing both so my mum and my partner can feed her too when I'm busy.

Tobi - Well, it's pretty common for breastfeeding mums to pump and have someone else give a bottle from time to time. I would have done so, but my child had mouth issues and REFUSED the bottle. She screamed bloody murder if you brought one near her even! So I don't think giving a bottle at times is a problem...though it's best not to offer one till after 4 or 5 weeks to avoid n****e confusion. I flat out refused to see formula as an option though. It helped me stick out the rough patches.

see with the problem with breast pumping, they have the tendencies to make n****e bleed and hurt more...
Especially in my family
It's all I'm worried about, because I like my nipples lol

If a pump is making your nipples bleed or hurt, something is wrong. Possibly too much suction or the flang on the pump isn't the right size. Of course, you can also hand express milk (it's amusingly similar to milking a cow). I prefer it to using a pump...nothing to wash or sterilize.

the only reason I dont want to breast feed is because I'd find it uncomfertable to do so in public or around my house

I'm too shy

It's not too difficult to nurse and avoid showing a lot of skin, if that's you're concern. Either by wearing specialized clothing or layering (tee over tank, hoodie over tee, etc). You get over a lot of shyness after giving birth..'cause like a dozen people have already seen your bits. xd

I have a question for any of the people in this thread who have breast fed! (since I fail at finding a good answer via google)
Does it make your nipples look like baby bottle nipples? My mother breast fed me for a year and her nipples look like that. Is that normal.. or is it one of those things where if it happened to her it would happen to me?
Also my nipples are pierced right now.. I'm not pregnant but if I did get pregnant since I plan on breast feeding would I take them out as soon as I find out I'm pregnant, or would I leave them in until the baby arrives.. Or would having pierced nipples make breast feeding fail. D;

Well today was LONG and eventful. We had two baby thrushes come in and one died from shock during the day but the other one is thriving and i had to syringe feed it cat food cos i was the only one with experience with baby birds rofl

I got to bathe a dog for the first time and he was huge eek he had been groomed that day and had a mohawk rofl
Intoxikace: everyone's breasts and bodies are going to react differently.. overall, it's for the baby so who cares what they may look like when you're done.. .lol for example, my right n****e is usually flat, I had issues with it when trying to get mine to latch on when he was a newborn. Had to use a special n****e piece over it. He latches onto it fine now and it does stick out like a bottle n****e sometimes but it always goes back to being flat when I'm done because I have a bra on all the time and it usually keeps them in check. wink Sorry if I'm being a little open..

I'm currently breastfeeding my own (4 months now) and he's taking it like a champ. I lost all modesty in the hospital room 'cuz of all the people who came and went. When out in public I just choose to go feed my little guy in the vehicle to avoid silly little eyes peering at me. All in all, I find it to be very rewarding for me and my little guy. No colic, he's usually happy, and it's helped me and him understand each other. :3
