Does anyone in here have a baby with colic? If so do you have any remedies you use to calm him/her down as I think my son has a mild case? I use Gripe Water and on occation some infant Tylonal. Both work for a little bit, at least long enough to get him down for a short nap, but that doesn't last more than an hour. He'll cry from about 11 am till about 5 in the afternoon. Though some days he's a perfect angel....
I'm so sorry for you! I though my baby was colicky but she only cries for maybe 5-10 mins at the absolute most.
The thing is, it's not every day and not every day is as long. For example he cried from 11 am till about 2pm yesterday, the day before he cried from about noon till 6 pm, today he barely did at all. It's sparratic, so I'm not sure. At least he's not as bad as my fiance was when he was a baby. Accourding to his parents he would litterally cry all day and night for the first few months. burning_eyes
How do you cope? i can deal with her crying for a few minutes so i can go pee or shovel some food in my mouth but for hours on end?
Multi-tasking. And Gaia. I've learned how to feed him, while talking on the phone, and keeping up with several threads on here (typing one handed),eating as well, and whatching TV. Other than that, patience. I hate hearing him cry, and he loves to move, so I'll walk around, bounce him a bit on my leg, and take full advantage of the swing we have for him. That thing is a life saver.

I know what you mean, i nurse her, give her a binky and put her in the swing, I really do love her swing.

@nyxaus: welcome, your baby has such purty blue eyes

I'm going to sleep, I'll talk to you all later night everyone
Nyxaus - Welcome to the thread! Your little one is just a few months older than mine.
thanks ^^

Liam would get real fussy if i ate certain things too, now he only gets whiney if he is tired or wants something he shouldn't have heh

Volley - I'd have days where Dani was really fussy and I later realized that I'd eaten something different the day before. I've figured out that I need to avoid green peppers and hot sausage...which isn't too bad because I don't eat those things often anyway. Bright green poop or mucusy poop can sometime indicate an allergy/sensitivity, though sometimes those symptoms are caused by other things too.

I've found that wearing the baby is a huge help when the babe is really fussy and needy. Like today, I popped her in a ring sling and did the dishes, later a put her in a wrap and wore her outside for a walk. She's fine so long as she's close to me and I'm moving around. When she was little she would fall asleep so easily in a sling! I'd walk around for 5 minutes and she was out like a light!
It's more af a darker green with some yellow... I mean I don't what it could be if it was an allergy. I eat about the same things everyday...

How many people had an epidural? I didn't want to get one but i was 8 centimeters and had been in labor for 25 hours already so i gave in.

I had one. I went into the hospital at 7 cm's. An hour and half later I was 8cm's.... Then they were all "Hey! why don't we give her pitocin?!" and that's when the pain started. I was perfectly content having a slow labour, Lukas was fine... I was progressing... And I was in heaven! Such an easy labour! But the pitocin hurt like a sinofabitch. Sooo... I had every drug lol
@ Nyaxus- What a cutie! So much hair! Oh, and welcome to the thread!

Are you sure your baby is colicky? Maybe he's teething. Lukas has been teething for almost two months. At first I thought he had colic but the dr was like "Oh! He's teething!" maybe try an ice cloth for him to chew on? Maybe it'll help?

He's not quite 3 month yet... that's a bit early...

Nyxaus; welcome! Such a handsome young man smile

Volley; oh, and Lukas has green poop... But again, he's teething and that's a sign of teething too.

Sometimes it's helpful to write down what you're eating and when he's fussy so you can notice a pattern if there is one. But it might not be diet related at all. Sometimes it can be so hard to know what babies want/need!

Oh, and Dani started teething when she was almost 3 months old. That was AWFUL!
Volley; a baby is never too early to teeth! Some baby's are even born with them. smile

no way Liam started teething around 3 months, and he has 8 teeth now
SNUGGIE! We need to try and have our babies on the same day! I'm not due til July 31st, but Anthony's cousin has a prediction that I'll go 2 weeks early. *Insert Twilight Zone theme music here*. Though, he called the NHL play-offs as soon as they were announced, and he was spot on (SHOULD'VE BOUGHT A PRO LINE! HE'D HAVE LOTS OF CASH! LOL)... so... we'll see... lol

lol you should give yourselves a foot massage around the achilles tendon. theres muscles there that trigger relaxation in the uterus muscles, but it doesn't work for every one. I did it june 14/15 around 12am and liam was born june 17 238 pm

Maybe I'll call his doctor so we could find out for sure if he's teething or not. Another one of my friends mentioned that today too.

Ugh. Teething... Chris buy the Jack Daniels so we can rub a drop on his gums... (Apparently it worked for me with my parents. Numbed my gums right up.) XD
