Has anyone else gotten a "thank you" letter from a site mod for reporting? Looks like a mass message, but it still took me by surprise.

Vaguely reminiscent of a totalitarian society; rat on someone and you get kudos. Or, as we like to joke around here, "snitches get stitches." Because if you fail to tattle on someone and they get caught, you get dragged down with them. neutral

I don't think so; I haven't reported anyone/anything in ages.
Actually, what's funny is that when I looked at criteria for beco0.ming a mod, you had to make a ridiculous number of reports per day to aid in your consideration for being a mod. Somewhere over 50 I think. But that's an aside.

Is anyone else experience this weird "new posts are on the top and old are on the bottom" phenomenon? I've had this happen to me before and it fixed itself, but it's really annoying when it flops around like that.

Oh yeah, I remember reading that back when I was kinda considering modding. Haha. Those were the days.

Hasn't happened to me lately, but I think I remember refreshing the page fixed it? I dunno. The posts have been appearing in the proper order for me.

Ah yes, back in the halcyon days of the 111.
After I posted that, the post order was reset properly for me.

It finally dawned on me that the 111 was showing up in my notices more often than it used to. I thought I'd drop by in the few minutes I have before work.

Indeed. A scant amount of us are--well I'm not sure if it's completely voluntary or not--stimulating the 111 in an attempt to "revive" it. For now, conversations of life and general catching up is in order.
I have to go to work in about an hour myself and I just don't feel like it.

Could we petition a mod to move us to Friends Chat or something? The 111 would feel less dead if it wasn't in the Recycling Bin. And we might be able to attract more people (new and old).

We tried that initially, but the mods all replied with hostility, stating we should be grateful it wasn't locked and deleted.

That's highly unprofessional of them. :/

The deletion was never based on any kind of professional attitude. It was all because of a personal vendetta, that it just so happened other mods joined in on. It's important to remember that the mods are not really Gaia Online employees. Just users.

Anyways, maybe we could try again now, but I don't know that it'd be better.

Well, if they try to deny us, I at least want them to provide a darn good reason as to why. While I know that moderators are not employees, as they are representing Gaia on a more professional level, they need to conduct themselves as such.
Hopefully they will comply with our request if we send another this time around.
I don't recognise the mods on the WF mod list except Racheling (was she part of the moving us to the Recycling Bin?), so we should be safe. Though, would we maybe ask the one Recycling Bin mod, or ask one of the CB mods or even a Friend's Chat mod... There's several different people we could ask, really.

As for the flipped posts, hasn't that been happening since forever the last two or three years? I think it just happens with bigger threads, when they have 14/15 posts on one page, and is about to go to a new page. I only get it when I go to a thread from my notices on the My Gaia page. I could be wrong, but that's how I've been experiencing it.

That's probably the case for the post-flipping for me as well.
With regards to the mods, I remember Racheling as well, but only vaguely. I suppose that we can avoid the WF mods first and turn to them if need be?

Fill it with decorative tea cozies?
I must say, this thread feels like an abandoned subway station...
