1. Panik
2. Hip-hop/rock; according to wiki it's nu-metal. Just think Linkin Park, but in German, and more talented.
3. Well, they were discovered in 2006 as Nevada Tan. Cue year of musical success. But then they split with their managing team, who had copyrighted the name 'Nevada Tan', and therefore became Panik. They released a self-titled album in September, and it's bloody AMAZING, but I guess the band couldn't cope with anything anymore, and four of six members quit. They used to consist of:
Timo Sonnenschein, MC; David Bonk, guitar & piano; Frank Ziegler, vocals; Christian Linke, bass; Jan Werner, DJ; and Juri Schewe, drums.
Now, they are: Timo Sonnenschein, vocals; David Bonk, guitar, bass & piano; computer, everything else.
4. Recommended songs: Kinder, a gripping song about s**t in the world; Unsere Zeit, a passionate, optimistic song about how their time will come, that all the s**t will be worth it; Was Würdest Du Tun?, a provocative song about not letting your life slip away; Keiner Merkt Es, a German translation of a song Linke (former bassist) wrote in English, about feeling alone.
I won't recommend anything from their first album as Nevada Tan, just because I have a feeling that they were made to write/perform some songs on there and it's not really them – it's a manipulated version of them.
Overall, I highly recommend this band's lyrics. If you don't speak German, definitely find an English translation. Timo has such an amazing talent with words, and this band is just so unbelievably talented that they deserve everything the music business has to offer and more. But I feel like they've drawn the short end of the stick, everything's gone downhill for them.
