Welcome to Gaia! ::

Your list of bands from Japan is very impressive, but I did see a few you were missing (or didn't see)
Rudolf Steiner (now Dis banded) Also known as Schwarz Stein or An Other Cell,Is a Japanese group with an electronic sound not too unlike a lot of American Industrial bands! Heavy on synth beats But with a nice soft melodic vocal at times! Formed By Members Klatha & Hara, who at times work with other musicians Including many of the members of Malice mizer! Like Malice Mizer, Rudolf Steiner uses a very visual style. There best song as Rudolf Steiner is Kuro Ageha!

Another great band that sadly I don't know a whole lot about, but what I have heard of them I have liked,is Clothoid + Doll. Again I am a bit sorry I have no Info on them!

& I couldn't think to forget Mix Speaker's,inc! A band from Tokyo Japan with a Comical Horror punk look & sound (Kinda like a weird cross between GWAR, the Sex Pistols & Marilyn Manson) Very visual with a very weird punk sound. They have two lead vocalist known as Yuki (also called Abel Monster) & Miki (also known as Cain Monster) On guitar they have Keiji (also known as Adam Dragon) Aya (also known as Eve Phoenex also plays guitar) On bass they have Seek (also known as God Turtle) & on drums is S (also known as Pet Tiger) Their alternate names more or less represent what their stage looks are! Yuki often has an Angel style look,Miki has a demonic look, Keiji has a dragon style look, Aya often is in bright colored feathers! Seek has a rather complex image that at times looks like some futuristic beast or some Bio waste inspector, & S is a tiger (some times with an East Indian style multi head mask) For more info on them, I suggest checking out their official MySpace ! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=1000440132
13 is one of their best songs!!!~

& For various reasons I couldn't talk about bands with out listing my own project!
Nuclear Lullaby is not really much of a band ,but rather a project that embraces many musical genres ! Anything from East Indian Classical to Industrial to goth ,to Jazz has often popped in to my tunes! I play at the very least 25 instruments, All of my songs take on their own styles, which makes complications in labeling my music in any styles! As far as stage presence goes...I wear a mask or face paint at times, your never unlikely to see me in some costume! I'll even project myself through a computer system on to a wall or have a cam hooked
to a TV positioned in front of a mic! My favorite song I have done is not yet available, but to hear some of what I have been doing as testings you can go to : http://www.myspace.com/nuclearlullabymusic
Quote:
1. Artist/Group Name
2. Type of music/Genre: Please elaborate on this, some people may not understand the name of the genre. (Visual kei is not a music GENRE)
3. Summary of the band: Member names and positions, because some people care about that. Again, what type of band they are. (You can put visual kei here)
4. Recommended songs: Please tell why you have recommend that song, and a general review of the song.

**The Horrors (punk/garage/surf-UK)
band MySpace here
wiki page here
This band comes out of Southend-On-Sea in the UK, formed in 2005 by five friends that met at a club called the Junk Club. I found the Horrors interesting because they are dark in dress and lyrics (albeit well-written) and five super-smart lads.
recommended listen(s): She Is The New Thing, Gloves

**Crystal Castles (Thrash-Canada)
band MySpace here
wiki page here
Crystal Castles formed on 2003 in Toronto, Canada. Their first track released was an accident. Good band, nice techno-y sound. Not fond of pictures with their faces in them.
recommended listen(s): Courtship Dating, Untrust Us

**These New Puritans (BigBeat/shoegaze-UK)
band MySpace here
wiki page here
Another band from Southend-On-Sea, they are friends with the band The Horrors previously mentioned. Giving new music a try, I found them an easy listen, especially their new hit "Elvis".
recommended listen(s): Elvis, Numbers AKA Numerology

Lily Allen (Pop/Hypha/Ska-UK)
artist MySpace here
wiki page here
She's practically acid pop. Her lyrics are biting and powerful in a very "bitchy, spicy young girl" way, with ska undertones and brilliant fashion sense. Lily Allen is a breath of fresh air.
recommended listen(s): Knock 'Em Out, Everything's Just Fine

Klaxons (Psychadelic/Progressive/Pop-UK)
band MySpace here
wiki page here
Straight out of the gut on London, the Klaxons are literally named after the greek word klazō, meaning "to shriek". The bands formation is anywhere between 2003/4-2006, as they have had a few member changes over the years.
recommended listen(s): Atlantis to Interzone, Golden Skans

**played the NME Awards in early March
Here are some awesome Welsh language bands you should all look into n.n in my opinion!

4. Recommended Songs: The Revenant Choir, Shout & Bites

I like this band because of their aristocratic clothing style and their strong instrumentals.
Artist - Nightmare
Genre - J-Rock/Visual Kei (electronica, ambience, heavy metal)
Recognizable by the Death Note opening for those who have never heard of this band.
1. Sadie
2. J-Rock

4. Recommended Songs: Psycho Culture, Malicious Female Pigs, Tsuiren no Hana

It's been said they sound similar to Dir en Grey for Dir en Grey fans 4laugh
Suggestions please.

This is going to sound like a really stupid request, but can anyone suggest any European Electronica for me? I know Ladytron and all that, but maybe from like France? Or Italy? Spain? Portugal? I'm open to anything, really.
I've just got into Japanese Rock. Lately I've been listening to songs like Week End - X Japan, New Legend - Galneryus and want to know if there are any other Japanese bands with death/black metal type voice but most importantly speed metal/shredding/good/fast guitar solos.

Thanks. o-o
i heart ...
super junior (korean)
big bang (korean)
oh big bang sings english too

well that's what i'm obsesed with at the moment sweatdrop lol
Group Name: NewS
Genre: J-Pop
3. Summary of the band: (nicknames in parentheses)
Current Members:
Yamashita Tomohisa - Leader (Yamapi, Pi)
Nishikido Ryo (Ryo)
Koyama Keiichiro (Koyama, Kei-chan)
Masuda Takahisa (Massu)
Kato Shigeaki (Shige, Geshi)
Tegoshi Yuya (Tesshi, Tego-nyan)

Former Members:
Uchi Hiroki - suspended in for underage drinking in July 2005 (Ryo calls him Honey Toast or Piroki)
Kusano Hironori suspended for being caught by the paparazzi with an alcoholic drink in his hand in January 2006, says he's not guilty (Kusano, Notti)
Takahiro Moriuchi - left after their first single in December 2003

After the suspension of Kusano and Uchi, NewS was put on hiatus for the rest of 2006.

Recommended songs:
I like all of their songs! But I guess these are the most popular:

Cherish - To me this is like a signature NewS song. Must listen to it!
Sayaendou - This song was used for One Piece, ne? I think it shows a different side to NewS, as they don't have any other songs like this one.
Hoshi wo Mezashite - This was their comeback song after their hiatus (they were put on hiatus in. It was made to be the comeback song, if you know the lyrics.
weeeek - I like this song a lot because it's really happy and fun. The PV has them jumping around and dancing the whole time.
Summer Time - Their new single! It came out May 8. It's also a very happy song.
can anyone recommend some heavy bands from china/korea/any other asian country?
i'm into j-rock but i want to broaden my tastes.
i generally like heavy stuff [girugamesh, lynch., as.milk], so i'm having a bit of trouble finding k/c/t-rock bands that i like. a lot of them are very 'pop'
i managed to find this one good c-rock band called silver ash, but their stuff is hard to get

Crash (Korean thrash metal)

I'll edit with more if I can think of any.

~*Nightwish
~*Metal-for fans of evanescence and flyleaf
~*i know little...please dont get angry sweatdrop . but i think they're Irish. their songs usually tell stories.
~*i recommend "nemo" and "over the hills and far away". 3nodding
Hmmm I can recommend...

Naitomea (Or Nightmare, for you english speakers)
Umm as for positions? Just Wiki it.
Some songs to suggest? Tokyo Shounen, Konoha, WHITE ROOM, Raven loudspeaker, AKANE, ALUMINA (full version, the DeathNote cut was crap)
1. Artist/Group Name: Zwei
2. Type of music/Genre: This is a Jrock band, well actually a duo since there are two people.
3.Summary of the band: The members consist of Ayumu(vocals)and Megu(bass). They are a duo who have debuted in early 2000-2001 I believe. Many people have not heard of them, and it's a interesting experience to listen to their music.
4.Recommended songs: The songs that i recommend are "Dragon", and "Hikari". Both songs ideally have a different sound, a unique one.The first one is more fast paced, but yet you still have the gist of what is going on."Hitari" is more slow paced but you still know it's Jrock. I love the melody of it, and it sounds more like a ballad to me more than anything else. It's a beautiful song.
For anyone who wants a listen;
Hikari
Dragon

I have another person to recommend, but I'll do it later...I hope this helps someone though.
