Welcome to Gaia! ::

There's one up there that's technically spelled wrong. It should be "melody." not "Melody" ^^;; That's all.
Flow, Gumi and HaliCali should be added to the Japanese list!
1. World's End Girlfriend
2. Type of music/Genre: Post-Rock/Electronica
3. Summary of the band: [Taken from Nippop] World’s End Girlfriend is the otherworldly work of prolific composer Katsuhiko Maeda. Fascinated by his father’s classical music collection as a youth, Maeda was composing on keyboards, guitar, tape recorders and computers by age thirteen. He also experimented with various other instruments and recording techniques, and is said to have hundreds of songs recorded but not released. His music tends to revolve around atmospheric soundscapes, often dark or moody. Other psuedonyms include World's End Boyfriend and Wonderland Falling Yesterday.
4. Recommended songs:
Scorpius Circus-Not my favorite of his but this song is fairly popular and would serve as a good introduction into his music.

Call Past Rain-I find this song absolutely mesmerizing; the watery/dreamy electronic effects of the song make it sounds as though mermaids are singing. I do believe this is the only song he has to date where there are vocals present.

Garden in the Ceiling-The sounds of children laughing and the song title itself create a truly haunting atmosphere.

Honestly i fully recommend anything off of his album Farewell Kingdom to start with.

BONNIE PINK

LISTEN TO HER NOW.

1. BONNIE PINK
2. Type of music/Genre: She's simply DIVERSE. JPOP, but has done anything from poppy to soothing and even jazzy. Her voice is absolutely AMAZING because her range is INCREDIBLE.
3. Summary of the band: SOLO
4. Recommended songs: Private Laughter: It's catchy, you're BOUND to love it. Even though the melody's on the slow side, her singing's on the fast side. You'll put in on repeat, I swear it. Plus, you can really hear her range in this one.
Love is Bubble: God, this song is CLASSIC. It's jazz, pop, it makes you want to dance.
Kingyo: Slow, and there's percussions! What's better than that. It's a bit on the low side, but you can hear her vibratos, so crisp, sharp, and clear.
i love 175R and Asian Kung Fu Generation, used to like the pillows, never got into ellegarden, hate all vk, any suggestions?
okay, I'm not a music forum user, so I hope this is the right place.

I'm looking for suggestions on good j-pop bands.
I don't know any, so I can't tell you what I listen to, nor use what's been posted, because I have no idea what the hell half of this means. I'm looking for something bubbly, perky, and not too "artistic". I do listen to Gwen Stefani's "Bubble, Pop, Electric", and I'm looking for some bands that are perkier than that.

I need music to dance around in my underwear in the morning to. xd
Street Metal Angel

Since I'd figure you're looking from music from Japan, I'll list off names.

I'll suggest these since they tend to be liked by people who have similar tastes in music (based off of people that I know): Straigtener, Highway61, Art-School, 銀杏BOYZ, Husking Bee

Try them out for size.

[ Try looking for some of the work by Chewinggum Weekend. You'd possibly like them. ]

1. Artist/Group Name -- Olivia Lufkin
2. Type of music/Genre: Please elaborate on this, some people may not understand the name of the genre. (Visual kei is not a music GENRE)-- J-Pop, Rock
3. Summary of the band: Member names and positions, because some people care about that. Again, what type of band they are. (You can put visual kei here) -- Olivia Lufkin shes the singer.
4. Recommended songs: Please tell why you have recommend that song, and a general review of the song.

I enjoy:
Dress Me Up, In to the stars, Dear Angel, Let Go, Tears and Rainbows, and Wish.

Just a few of her lovely songs! I find all her music different.
Most likely someone has already done them, but I wan't to recommend the songs that I personally like.

1. Artist/Group Name: Malice Mizer
2. Type of Music: Varies from song to song, and wildly at that
3. Summary of the Band: The band was formed by Mana and Kozi in the early nineties, and they chose Tetsu to be the lead singer. The Tetsu era only lasted two years. Gackt was chosen to replace him as lead singer shortly after and their style changed slightly. The band became more classical with strong french influences. The band was famous for lavish costumes, especially during this era, and their live performances, which were usually more complex than most. After Kami's (the drummer) death, the band moved more into the goth-victorian style of music. Gackt soon left the band, allowing Klaha to join the band for two short years.
4. Recommended Songs:

Illuminati- An interesting song with even more interesting lyrics. Fire up Wikipedia if you even want to begin to understand this song.

Le Ciel- A beautiful song with an equally beautiful PV. The vocals are a tad shaky, but the melody is near perfect.

Gardenia- A very pretty song with a great melody to it. The PV isn't the most interesting, but its still nice.

Au Revoir- A strange song in my mind. Its haunting in a way, even though it is very classical. Just listen to it, you will know what I mean.

Beast of Blood- One of the more extreme songs from the band. It has a wonderful chorus, I cant say enough good things about it.

Ju Te Veux- Easily the strangest melody for a Malice Mizer song that I have found, it almost ranges on J-Pop. Still, a very nice song that is worth checking out.
