Welcome to Gaia! ::

1. Name: Crystal Kay

2. Type of music/Genre: JPop/JR&B

3. Summary of the band: Crystal Kay is a half black, half Korean singer who is fluent in English and Japanese and, of course, sings in Japan. Her beats are amazing and all her songs are different and beautiful, as well as dance-worthy.^_^ She also sings in Japanese and English and, like Utada Hikaru, mixes them both in her songs.

4. Recommended songs:

Kirakuni: This is from her new album, Call Me Miss. It's in English and the video is cute. She also shows off her dancing.XD

Candy: From her album, Candy. It's upbeat and has a cute story behind it.

Make You Mine: From her album, Crystal Style. This is definitely a dance song. I love the beat and she made this song in English and Japanese.

I would also like to add these songs to the recommendations, for people who want to see her vocal capabilities.
- I Know: A beautiful song, with amazing vocals but has a great dance beat as well. And is produced by M-Flo.
- Koi no Ochitara: A spring song, that infuses light and soft, yet soulful vocals with beautiful strings.
- Telepathy: This is the perfect lounging song, that has many jazz elements along with beautiful smooth vocals
- Lead Me To the End: A heart wrenching ballad, that is soaked with emotion. The entire song gives you chills, and her vocals are very strong in this.

Here is my reccomended artist.

1. Name: Beni Arashiro

2. Type of music/Genre: J-Pop/J-R&B

3. Summary of the band: Beni Arashiro is a half American (with a bit of Native American also) half Japanese (Okinawan) singer who is fluent in English and Japanese. She is actually great friends, with fellow singer Crystal Kay, and they currently attend the same college together. With an angelic, melodic, beautiful voice to match charm and good looks; her songs can make you dance, make you cry, seduce you razz , or lift up your spirits. She debuted in 2004, and while her producers aren't the best, for a recent artist she is very promising.

4. Recommended songs:

Here Alone:: This is an amazing dance song accompanied by Indian/Bollywood beats, and sultry vocals. It's catchy, addicting, and shows Beni's versatility...along with a heart music video.

Flash Flash:: This song is another dance song, that can be seen as a more dance worthy Here Alone. It starts off with a mid tempo beat, but then kicks into high gear and becomes so infectious you are forced to dance.

Song For Love:: SFL is an R&B ballad. Her voice is silky smooth, and full of heart in it, and while it is heart wrenching...you can still dance to it.

Always:: This song is dedicated to Beni's family, and she puts her all into it. Her voice is perfect in it, and is absolutely angelic. It's a pop ballad accompanied by acoustics, and the song as a whole gives me a sense of completeness and tranquility.

1. Miyavi
2. Jrock, some are slow songs.
3. Miyavi is a solo artist who used to be with another band. Miyavi pwns at playing the guitar!! His style is really awsome and he really weird and goofy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlT-c4aDOJc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_P-8cX5AEM. He is really really awsome!!! He ranges from really rock songs to nice acoustic songs.
4. I recommend: Hime, Itoshi Hito, Senor Senora Senorita, Jibun Kakumei, Gariben Rock, Are you Ready to Rock?, Freedom Fighter and many others that are really good. You definately have to listen to him!
um Green Day? blaugh
1. Name: Stephy Tang
2. Type of music/Genre: Ballads, Canto-Pop ... mostly slow songs. Rarely fast. I think one was R&B
3. Summary of the band: Solo artist who used to be in the girl band Cookies. She started to go solo in early-mid 2005, and has two albums out. She mostly sings slow songs (ballads) but has a few faster ones. Popular among younger people in HK. She also writes her own lyrics.
4. Recommended songs: Wow ... too many. Anyway - ]
Album: Coloring Stephy
- Black and White Photos: Talks about her childhood. Has a faster beat than some of her other songs, and she puts a lot of effort into singing it
- Blue Shoes: a Cinderella-like story with a good melody
Album: Fantasy
- Apple: This song really tests her singing ability ... very classical Chinese style, with a somewhat bitter story behind it ...
- Free as a Bird: talks about going on vacation to Japan ... it's a rather lighthearted song
- Angel/Devil: a different beat for her - it's faster, and she usually doesn't sing this type, but I guess it's a bit like "Free as a Bird"
- Sisterhood: her only R&B song - suits her!

1. Name: Kary Ng
2. Type of music/Genre: Rock, some ballads, Canto-pop
3. Summary of the band: Solo artist that used to be in the girl band Cookies [until 2005] and the rock band Ping Pung [she's still in it] ^-^ she sings rock a lot, but she's also trying out new styles ... but she sings faster beats than Stephy (her voice is stronger too)
4. Recommended songs:
Album: With a Boy Like You
- From Love to Hate: it's a ballad, but Kary really performs well singing this song
- Southern Winds [mandarin]: an overall good song - Kary's mandarin is great ...
Album: All the Best [old Cookies album]
- Not the School Flower [or Not the School Belle]: a faster song, with good lyrics, and she really works well with this type of music ^~^
- Remember Me: the lyrics suit her so well!! It describes her, in a way ...

I just had to do that. I'm too big of a fan blaugh
Someone came into my thread and said I should go to this sticky instead.. Well I hope I get a better result then. Next post I shall write what I did in my thread.
My school's Japanese Entertainment Club has plans to participate in next school year's multicultural week. People and clubs put together performances which represent a culture. The Japanese Entertainment Club wishes to show a side of Japanese culture that will rock the socks off of our peers.

We want to put on a one song performance of a J-rock concert. We'll need the costumes and we'll need the song. We wont actually play or sing the song.. We'll lip synch it.

The big question I have is.
What would be a good song to present to my school? Or what is a very popular J rock song? When I mean presentable.. I'd rather it not have a majority of screaming. If possible, could an english tranlation of the song be given as well?

Also, it should have a male singer.
Sajera!!!! scream
afi .......ther ok i dont even no wut im talking about im just randomley replying so i can get munny cuz im a poor *******.......and yes i no i spelt munny wrong here look money there now r u happy...hehe im totaly random.
1. GELATINE
2. They're probably rock, I dunno...I don't like genres...maybe you should hear for yourself biggrin D
3. I don't know much about them, besides their music, but I saw them at ONNA FEST, a newish con in NJ.(I think...) But they were awesome! They had a girl led singer in a school uniform in all these rags. And I think they're friends with Peelander Z, 'cause Peelander Yellow was there dancing around with a fan(the object). XDD But this is their mysmace!
4. Ya know, most are really good songs...the theme is awesome and HOMELESS and Let's Go Home...GO SEE 'EM KIDS! biggrin
All of these songs are somehow similar.I don't know what it is

Recommend me any songs that have that type of genre. They must be in a foreign language eg. chinese, japanese, french etc because i am tired of english songs. mad

Female vocals are more favourable xd

Anyone knows what song has this tune>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wXiQ9yDB-8

It is a mandarin song by a female singer.
