So what if Itachi did that the point is he wiped out his entire clan except for Sasuke. Itachi's only reason for letting Sasuke live is cause Itachi wants Sasuke to be like him. After Itachi killed his parents and Sasuke ran into the room where Itachi killed their parents, Sasuke was traumatized for life and he had to struggle growing up on his own.
