Hehehe, yeaaahhhhh, I got on a little rant there.
I read the first and just wrote what I felt, heheheheh heh, lol.

I don't believe, in the original languages, it ever says that homosexuality is wrong.

Actually, in Genisis, it does.
Its says that 'No man shall lie with a man, for so is an abomination to God. No man shall lie with beast for so is an abomination to God.'
It also says something about a woman getting pregnant by a beast as well, but I'm not sure about that part. I'll have to look it up again.

What gets to me is that in Gods eyes it sin. And sin is sin. Yet this is one on the MAIN things people fuss about. If they're gonna fight about this what about sex before marriage or drinking or other stuff like that.
Its all the same in God's eyes.

No it doesn't.

Please stop pretending you know anything about the Bible until you go and read it. It's obvious you haven't and that you don't. Please stop embarrassing yourself and everyone who has actually bothered to read the damned books.

Now, please.
Um, actually she's right. Partially.
Just like I'm right when I say God hates figs.
Quote:
The Old Testiment, the Torah, does phrase it as 'No man shall lie with another man' as one of the commandments, I can't remember the number, there's three hundred and sixteen of them.
Yea, but it's not Genesis, and frankly if someone can only vaugly paraphrase the Bible, when (and here's the LOLIRONY) the verse they're thinking of is in the OP, they really have no place to talk.
Quote:

I'm not sure of the whole beastality part, but I'd say that too is considered a sin.
Lev 18:23 I believe (Yes I'm pulling this from Memory alone.)
Quote:

As for the last part, it all depends. It depends on your religion, your sect, your own personal beliefs and morels, ect. As for this being one of the main things under discussion, it is becuase of people with different, or more accurately people with conflicting, morels and views on how life should be lived have attempted to make it a law, or part of the sexual education of children. It is, of course, much more complicated than that. But it's part of it, and one of the simpler parts at that.

So, on some parts she is correct. And others she is wrong. And for parts your opinions on the matter conflict.

The Problem is two parts.
One being she shouldn't be commenting in the ED if she can't give the respect to look something up. We have the internet, she could paraphrase on google and not look like a douche by quoting the wrong book of the Bible.
The second is she can't comment on being a Good, Strong or Proper Christian and demanding that WE read the Bible when she isn't even vaugly familiar enough with it to quote the right area of the Bible from which she's condeming us, nor give anyone here the respect to do us the favour and look it up.

Shavi is right in that she should stop commenting on seeing specks in our eyes when she's got this huge honking log of Bible illiteracy in her own.

Elaborate please, my source is... well s**t frankly, I'm reading an apologetic book called "What is Christianity" and it's also making the claim that all religions are secretly Christianity at their core. Which at best I find insulting.

My information is offline. It is from a book called The Portable Seminary, and it speaks about the Old Testament apocrypha in chapter 13, Between the Testaments, on pages 260-280. I won't write down what is written in the book. However, you're asking me to elaborate on what I have said. The term "intertestamental" is used, because in the "four-hundred year intertestamental period [...] no book of either the Old or New Testament was written" (ibid. p. 260). "Although the books of the Apocrypha were included in the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament), it is doubtful that the early Jews ever considered them canonical" (ibid. p. 268 ).

Would you or would you not be a bad Christian?

You would, I would think, realize that the idea of a "good" and "bad" Christian doesn't really exist. You either are, or you aren't...YHVH doesn't see in levels like this.

True. I typically hold disdain for universalizing such obviously opinionated words. However, I think not being a Christian is similar to being a bad Christian, if not the same.

Oh no, its wasn't!
It was written in Hebrew untill around the 1600's one of the European kings gather as many well know schoolars as he could and got them to tranlate it into old english, then we did into english.

Also, its not what you think.
One thing, God is God and He's the only one who truely knows what He wants and mean. Also, I know He wants us to be happy, but our mean of exsistance is to be there with Him and worship Him. We weren't made to be intimate with our own gender. We're made to intimate with the opposite. Its ment to be reproductive, to replenish the earth.
I don't think you should have kids without some since of marriage either. Otherwise it hurt the kids.

No kidding. I assume, since you're an OT sorta girl, you also follow a kosher diet and don't wear clothes of different fibers. You also must have read the thing in the original language so you know what's being said.

And yeesh, you do know that gender roles have changed. We're not as 'opposite' as we used to be. And the population's quite high.

What do you mean by OT? Um no I don't, really. I'm practically a carnivore, lol, I eat TOO much meat, hehe!
Down both are made equal, but if you were born with one set of pipes, why change them?

Yeah, you will. Especially since it isn't there. Perhaps you're thinking of Leviticus, hm?

I might be, I dunno.
But I'll post it for you when I get if you want me to.

Old Testament.

And gender roles is the idea that, say, women have to wear pink and bake cakes (or, in Biblical times, submit to their husbands and bear children and not much else), and that men have to be gruff and strong and eat, er, bloody steaks.

1 The Bible is a huge book. Its somewhat not easy to remember the exact spot in a book when you're half way through it.
2 Also take in the fact that some people might not have the resorces to look up and research the matiral they need.

I think people take that out of context. There were many women in the Bible who were strong indipendent women: Ruth, Rachel, Sarah, Mary Magdalin.

I was saying that gender roles have changed. Women do things that men do, men do things that women do. The opposite thing seems to me to say that women and men are inherently lacking. But. That goes into my morals and ideas of gender. Nor was it my main point.

You've used information from the OT, regarding the covenent that God made with the Isrealites. Yet, you don't follow the other rules in that same book?
It ideas of what a womans job is and a mans job is that makes spurs those ideas.
Twilight Page
It ideas of what a womans job is and a mans job is that makes spurs those ideas.
. . . how is that relevant?
Gay people "choose" to be gay like straight people "choose" to be straight.

All they want to do is marry each other. Love each other. The way their parents and grandparents did. Because they want to be able to commit to each other, just the way straight people too.

Gay people and straight people are the same.
